MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA: The highly anticipated 'Indian Matchmaking' Season 3 is finally here on Netflix, and the internet can't stop talking about it. This time around, matchmaker Sima Taparia has her sights set on math teacher Bobby Seagull, who is on the hunt for true love. In his introduction, Bobby jokes, "If someone wanted to write a PhD paper on the friend-zoning business, I think I’d be the ultimate case study." Poor Bobby, all he wants is to break free from the friend zone. Sima Aunty tries her best to find someone who matches Bobby's preferences, and she eventually sets him up with Priya Ashra.

Viewers briefly saw Priya at the end of Season 2, but Bobby meets her for the first time in the latest batch of episodes. They seem to hit it off, even having a fun dancing date. However, as fate would have it, Priya doesn't feel the chemistry she's looking for. "He’s genuinely a really lovely, lovely guy. But I’m not sure I necessarily felt those butterflies and the chemistry that maybe I felt in the past before," Priya confesses, delivering the crushing news that Bobby has been friend-zoned yet again. While some fans are rooting for Bobby and hoping he'll find his happily ever after, others are raising eyebrows and wondering why he's on the show in the first place. "Why was Bobby Seagull on 'Indian Matchmaking'? Was he only in it for the clout?" they ask. It's a valid question, given that Bobby has appeared on other TV shows before.

'Indian Matchmaking' is Bobby Seagull's third TV show

Despite not finding love in 'Indian Matchmaking' Season 3, Bobby is still making waves on the small screen. It turns out that Bobby has been supplementing his teaching career with a thriving screen career in the United Kingdom. He has been a presenter on numerous TV shows, such as 'Celebrity Hunted', a Channel 4 show where high-profile contestants go on the run as pretend fugitives in support of Stand Up To Cancer, and BBC’s 'Pilgrimage: The Road Through Portugal', in which TV personalities of various faiths embark upon a spiritual journey together. Coincidentally, these TV projects and 'Indian Matchmaking' are all airing at the same time, which has led fans to question why Bobby was on the show in the first place. However, Bobby seems to take it all in stride. In an April 16 Instagram post, he joked, "Can you escape me on the telly this week? 📺👀🤣"

Despite not finding love on the show, Bobby is still on the lookout for a partner. According to a recent interview with the Daily Express, after filming 'Pilgrimage' in October, he joined the Christian dating app Salt in search of someone with whom he shares a great connection, first and foremost. Bobby shared, “Great person first, faith second. And some of the people you meet on the Christian apps are very religious — like 100% certain — whereas I’m someone who is getting their faith back so it can be a challenge.”

As for Bobby's future in the entertainment industry, it seems bright. Whether you watch him on his many TV appearances or spot him on dating apps, 'Indian Matchmaking' definitely isn't the last viewers have seen of this charismatic math teacher.

'Seems a bit of a clout chaser'

Bobby's appearance on 'Indian Matchmaking' has left many fans wondering if he joined the show for the fame and recognition it would bring. With his thriving career in the UK as a writer and TV presenter, some viewers have expressed skepticism about his motives for appearing on the popular dating series. One said, "Yeah and now I'm a little weirded out by him showing the kids in his classroom praising him, seems like something a clout chaser would do." while another said, "He's literally under every comment on instagram and replying and begging it...... he wants to be a reality star..... but he probably would have been open to meeting someone if that happened 🤔" One twitter user said, "Watching Indian matchmaking and thought hang on that’s the guy from celebrity hunted". Bobby himself even commented on a tweet that read, "@Bobby_Seagull wait wait... Pilgrimage AND Indian Matchmaking? I can't take this *faints*". Bobby responded by saying, "The best things come in threes... Add Celebrity @Hunted_HQ into that mix as well". Another Redditor added, "He’s cute and smart but I’m getting exhausted just watching him on tv. It’s going to be hard to match that energy." while another tweeted, "Diving in to the new season of #IndianMatchmaking and Bobby is grown up Kevin Gnapoor?"
