Fan favorite matchmaker Sima Taparia is returning back with some more matches to help people find the ‘one’. Along with the couple Viral and Aashay, Rushali from Season 1 and Priya from Season 2. Some other new faces will also join the show. Let us have a closer look at the cast.
Bobby Seagull
Meet Jay Bobby Seagull, a renowned mathematics teacher, writer, and broadcaster born in 1984. He first gained attention as a contestant on the popular TV program University Challenge in 2017 and then co-hosted Monkman & Seagull's Genius Guide to Britain in 2018. In the same year, he published his second book, 'The Life-Changing Magic of Numbers'. Growing up in the London borough of Newham as the second of four sons, all named Jay, Seagull's parents migrated to East Ham from Kerala, India. His father encouraged him to find books that interested him, and he was a regular visitor to East Ham Library. Seagull's academic journey began when he saw an advertisement for sixth-form scholarships at Eton College, and he was successful in his application.
He initially started studying mathematics at the University of Oxford, but later left and graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London. After graduation, he worked as a trader at Lehman Brothers and later as an accountant for Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where he also trained new graduates. Seagull completed a master's degree in education at the University of Cambridge, while also finishing his newly qualified teacher (NQT) year. He has taught at various institutions, including Chesterton Community College in Cambridge and East London Science School. Currently, he is a part-time mathematics teacher at a secondary school in London, where he creates fun and engaging mathematics raps for his students. He is also leading a course on money management at the Open University. Since 2018, Seagull has been pursuing a doctorate at the University of Cambridge, focusing on "mathematical anxiety and phobia." He is also a columnist for the Financial Times since January 2018, sharing his expertise and insights on various topics.
Priya Ashra
Meet Priya Ashra, a 35-year-old private chef and supper club host based in North London. Priya first appeared in Season 2 and we witnessed her journey toward love. After her divorce, she is ready to give love another chance. Priya regularly hosts the Tiku Tiku Supper Club, and her Instagram showcases her love for traveling, spending time with family and friends, and throwback photos. We also know that Priya is tired of dating and is not actively looking for a partner, as seen in the finale episode where she hosted a dinner party with friends.
However, she knows exactly what she's looking for in an ideal partner. Priya jokes about not wanting someone with "dragon shirts" or overly groomed eyebrows, but she does prefer a guy with a topknot, one ear piercing, a nice smile, and who is at least 6 feet tall.
