MIAMI, FLORIDA: Get pumped! Season 3 of Netflix's 'Indian Matchmaking' will premiere on April 21, 2023. Sima Taparia, a professional matchmaker, returns this season to use her skills and intuition to help both new and returning clients find their perfect match. Sima will couple individuals from London, New Delhi, Miami, and New York using conventional matching strategies such as cross-referencing criteria lists, biodata, and astrological charts. Will her conventional matching methods work with today's singles?

If you've already binge-watched the show, you'll remember how a Season 3 cast member trusted Sima to find her the right life companion. But things quickly turn ugly when the client and the matchmaker begin to disagree about Sima's matchmaking process.

Sima Aunty bashes the notion of 'Love at First Sight'

Arti Lalwani from Miami meets with Sima from Mumbai and shares her list of requirements for a man. Arti's qualifications include being a man who is driven by his work and his way of life. She also desires a man with a nice background but an edge. Someone who was raised in America with the same cultural background and decent attitude is a bonus for her. Arti's mother adds that her daughter desires someone tall and strong as well. Arti would like it if her companion could cook. And what she truly wants is "someone to take me to Costco." Arti further mentions that her recently deceased father wanted her to marry a Sindhi guy.

Sima shows Arti the profiles of Avinash Shingwani and Ashman Murti. Arti goes out with Avinash since he is Sindhi, and she has met him before in a mixer arranged by Sima in Season 2. However, after meeting him, she realizes that they are better suited as friends. When things with Avinash don't work out, Sima arranges a Zoom date for Arti with Ashman. Arti soon realizes on the Zoom date that this Ashman isn't going to work out either.

When Sima inquires about Arti's date with Ashman, she replies that he is a really honest, down-to-earth person, but "there was just something slightly missing," which appeared to irk Sima. Arti claims she didn't have a connection with him. Sima reveals to her that she cannot have it all. Deepak, Arti's brother, supports her, adding, "Chemistry is important."

Sima asks how she is supposed to understand chemistry in one day. She adds that in one meeting they couldn't decide whether to move forward since they were practically strangers. But they would get more and more comfortable with each new meeting.

"Now, the youngsters don't have any patience at all." Sima criticizes today's youth for holding on to the idea of "love at first sight." She believes people need to be patient, adaptable, and willing to compromise. She adds that this process takes work. Furthermore, she works for Arti, "but she has to work too." She believes Arti to be quite "adamant," wanting "only her wills, whims, and fancies to be satisfied."

Arti doesn't think it's going to work out with Sima

When Sima questions Arti about her decision to marry a guy after only meeting him once, Arti's brother reminds the crowd how their mother and father met only once. Their mother says that it was fairly common at the time, and she had little say in the matter. Sima tells Arti and her brother, "In a love marriage, first it is love, then it is marriage. In an arranged marriage, first, it is arranged, then it is love."

Arti says she understands how things were during the time her parents got married, but she is now "trying to work the best of both worlds here." She insists on ending up in a relationship with someone with whom she has a mutual connection. Sima interjects, wondering if Arti would have a "romantic connection" with everyone she meets.

"Sima Aunty has an understanding," Arti admits in a confessional, "but, like, culturally, she needs to be a little bit more geared to the idea that it's not a love marriage, it's not arranged, but something in between." She goes on to say that she is eager to work and that she wants Sima to work with her. Sima informs Arti that first-encounter love ties are uncommon. Spark is also uncommon on first dates. The whole conversation makes Arti wonder if it will work out for Sima and her as well.

'Indian Matchmaking' Season 3 is now available for streaming only on Netflix.
