'We'll miss you': Fans heartbroken over Anna Torv's Tess' death in HBO's 'The Last of Us'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Anna Torv has stolen hearts within just two episodes of HBO's 'The Last of Us.' Anna Torv is known for her roles as Olivia Dunham on the Fox science fiction series 'Fringe' (2008–2013), and Wendy Carr in the Netflix crime thriller series 'Mindhunter.' In the game and the HBO series, Theresa "Tess" Servopoulos is a supporting character in 'The Last of Us.' A hardened survivor, she was the long-term smuggling partner of Joel Miller. The pair made their living as smugglers in Boston, where they traded with survivors outside of the city. She had a "dog-eat-dog" philosophy, similar to Joel and Ellie.
Although fans were used to the concept of Tess' death in the game but they were still taken aback when they saw Anna Torv's Tess' death in the second episode of the Pedro Pascal starring HBO series. The series is based on the 2013 video game developed by Naughty Dog, the series is set twenty years after a mass fungal infection sparked a global pandemic and follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting the teenage Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic state of the country.

At the conclusion of Episode 2 of 'The Last of Us,' Tess, who is portrayed by Anna Torv in the series, sacrificed herself so that Joel and Ellie could escape and continue on their journey. Earlier in the episode, Tess was bitten by a Clicker during an encounter that the trio had with a group of Infected. Knowing that she would soon turn into an Infected creature herself, Tess chose to take down a horde of monsters with her in a fiery explosion. Not long after Tess ended up dying in 'The Last of Us,' social media filled up with responses from fans talking about how the moment impacted them. Most fans expressed that the final scene was incredibly well done, while others praised Torv's performance.
