Netflix has shown interest in retelling the terrifying, real-life story of Colombian drug lord, Griselda Blanco, in the upcoming limited series, 'Griselda'. 'Modern Family' star Sofia Vergara is taking on the role of executive producer for the same, aside from taking on the role as the lead protagonist, Griselda herself. It is quite an ambitious role as Catherine Zeta-Jones previously played Blanco in Lifetime's 'Cocaine Godmother: The Griselda Blanco Story', and Jennifer Lopez has been attached to a biopic for HBO.

The Netflix thriller series is inspired by events from Blanco's true story and how she started drug trafficking from Colombia, all the way to her base in Miami. During her time, Blanco managed to create probably the most profitable drug cartels and is also famous for being the first-ever female criminal billionaire.
