Youngjae releases a moody black-and-white album teaser for solo debut 'COLORS From Ars' to celebrate birthday with Ahgases

We finally have some concrete information on the next GOT7 member going solo. Ever since the iconic third-gen boy group left their previous agency JYPE, they’ve slowly been having solo debuts. Bambam and Yugyeom were the first members to go solo in 2021. And now the solo debuts of the maknae (youngest) line is complete with Youngjae announcing his solo album ‘COLORS From Ars’ on his birthday.

It seems that 2021 is the year where GOT7 is focusing on their individual careers. While member Jackson has already had his solo debut before, the remaining members have been having theirs one by one this year. The latest member was leader Jay B who dropped his debut album ‘SOMO:FUME’ in August. Everyone was wondering who would be the next member to go solo. Jay B and Bambam had even teased that Youngjae might be next but Ahgases have been in disbelief.

Youngjae goes solo with 'COLORS From Ars'

In fact, on numerous occasions, Jay B has spoiled Youngjae’s solo on radio and social media while Bambam has joined in on the fun. But the last time they did it, Youngjae cleverly replied that maybe he’s working on the next GOT7 album which had Ahgases going in a tizzy. But on September 17, which also happens to be Youngjae’s birthday, he announced his solo debut by releasing an album teaser for ‘COLORS From Ars’ on his newly opened YouTube channel. The mini-album will be released on October 5 at 6 pm KST (5 am ET) on all major music streaming platforms.

Youngjae has previously made songs for GOT7, had solo tracks, OSTs and has a SoundCloud under the name ARS. But this will be the first time since his debut with GOT7 that he will be having a solo album. And what better way to celebrate his birthday than share his newest venture with his fans. Known for his mellow R&Bs and ballads, we might get something similar as the ‘COLORS From Ars’ teaser is a moody black-and-white video where we see the light-haired idol struggling to write something.

Fans also feel that they have found another spoiler as Youngjae met up with Bambam and Yugyeom at AOMG’s building. AOMG happens to be Yugyeom’s newest agency and is founded by soloist Jay Park who also is the co-founder of Jay B’s label H1GHER MUSIC. And he has time and again showed his support for GOT7. So with three of the members regrouping a day before the album announcement has fans wondering if there is a collab track between the GOT7 maknaes on ‘COLORS From Ars’.

Ahgases trended Youngjae and #ARSunshineDay as they wished him happy birthday and shared their excitement over the album announcement. Fans made posts like, “Last year he uploaded a cover on his birthday,, and now arsolo omg why is it always on youngjae's birthday HE'S THE BIRTHDAY BOY BUT WHY ARE AHGASES ALWAYS RECEIVING PRESENTS LIKE THIS,” “No but youngjae literally gave us everything we wanted on his birthday he gave us arsolo and blondejae back. i can’t believe we’re getting a BLONDE YOUNGJAE ON HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM,” and “HAPPY YOUNGJAE DAY!!! happy birthday to our sunshine!! we're always proud of you and we're always got your back!!” One fan tried to guess the album concept, “HOLD UP! COLORS = 6 letters = different letters = sixth sense? ? ? And he wants to interpret the senses CHOI YOUNGJAE! ?”
