Youngjae’s solo debut seems to be getting closer and closer. After Bambam, Yugyeom and Jay B, Youngjae is the next GOT7 member to have a solo debut this year. In the past, he has released solo songs, OSTs and SoundCloud tracks, but he hasn’t released an album yet. Ahgases have been eagerly waiting as they wondered when the impressive vocalist would release his solo music. As an idol with one of the best voices in the industry, Youngjae’s solo album ‘COLORS from Ars’ is looked forward to by many.

Just days before the announcement, Bambam and Jay B teased that Youngjae would be the next GOT7 member to go solo. We then had him meeting the maknae (youngest) line with a different colored hair. And fans know that if a K-pop idol changes their hair, it marks the beginning of a comeback. Well, now the pink-haired Youngjae is ready to drop his first solo mini-album ‘COLORS from Ars’. While the boys teased a GOT7 comeback next year on September 29, fans will first witness Youngjae going solo.

Release date

Youngjae’s ‘COLORS from Ars’ will be released on October 5 at 6 pm KST (5 am ET).

Concept

Youngjae has been teasing fans with concept photos and moving teasers. He first announced his solo album with a black and white moody teaser that he released on his birthday as a gift for waiting fans. He then released a series of images of him in his new pink hair, wearing chic outfits, berets and embellished denim jackets. He also gives us rockstar vibes in leather jackets and swept-back hair which we have never seen during the comebacks with GOT7. And Ahgases are excited.

Music video teaser

On September 29, the GOT7 member released his first music video teaser for the song ‘Vibin’. While he has yet to release his tracklist for the mini-album, ‘Vibin’ is the title track and Youngjae has participated in the making of it. In the teaser, he is seen in a denim outfit on a barren countryside as he drives a blue 1985 Mercedes convertible with the license plate of GOT7’s debut date. Full of house beats in the teaser, ‘Vibin’ is a dance-pop song with an upbeat melody as Youngjae sings about falling in love with someone he shouldn’t.

'Versatile king'

Fans are going crazy over the music video teaser as they cannot wait for the album to drop. One Ahgase tweeted, “YOUNGJAE DRIVING IN ONE HAND IS DRIVING ME CRAZY BC I SAW THAT BOY FAIL HIS DRIVER’S EXAM LIKE FR HE COULDN’T EVEN START A DAMN CAR BACK THEN.” We also had an excited Jay B commenting on Youngjae’s Instagram, “Look at that jawline….” One fan made a meme, “Youngjae: "Can we just MOOOOOOVE" Birds:.’ “It's the way we completely have no idea about what kind of songs youngjae prepared for colors from ars because he can literally go from one genre to another and it's a bop each and every time????? we love a versatile king,” said an Ahgase.
