'Glitch Mode': NCT Dream get 1 million sales in 4 days, fans say, 'A glow up'

Just under four days after the release, NCT Dream's album 'Glitch Mode' ended up making 1.12 million sales

The K-pop industry knew not to mess with NCT Dream when they became the youngest triple million-seller in 2021 with their first studio album ‘Hot Sauce’ and its repackaged album ‘Hello Future’. Well, they have set the bar now even higher as they reached 2 million just for the pre-orders of their second studio album ‘Glitch Mode’. The music video and choreography were equally mind-blowing as the boys introduced a unique glitching dance move. And well, they have made a record just on the fourth day of the album's release.

Released on March 28, ‘Glitch Mode’ ended up topping several charts like Bugs, MelOn real-time, Vibe, Hanteo, China’s QQ, Japan’s Line Music, and AWA, and entered Genie and FLO. NCT Dream also ended up topping iTunes in 28 countries like Japan, Chile, and Thailand within 24 hours. ‘Glitch Mode’ also crossed 703k sales on the first day. Additionally, on March 31 early morning, just under four days after the release, the album ended up making 1.12 million sales.

NCT Dream make 1 million sales

‘Glitch Mode’ has given NCT Dream their highest first-week sales. It is also the second album in SM Entertainment to cross 1 million sales in the first week on Hanteo, following ‘Hot Sauce’. They are also the only SM act to have two albums with a million sales in the first week and three albums with a million sales of all time according to Hanteo Chart. NCT Dream follows BTS and Seventeen to become the third K-pop group to have three million-selling albums. The music video for the lead single ‘Glitch Mode’ has also crossed 38 million views on YouTube.

‘U will always be famous'

Happy fans trended ‘Glitch Mode 1M sales’ as they made tweets like, “Another ‘the first’ and "the only" moment for our 7dream 💙 u will always be famous and successful dreamies.” One fan dreamt bigger, “And the next repackage album will also sell one million copies😎Congratulations babies.” Another NCTzen posted, “Can’t believe we got the Hanteo 1M Initial Chodong for Glitch Mode 3 days and 9 hours shorter than we did for Hot Sauce. NOW THIS IS A GLOW UP.” One fan flexed, “Yall know that 2M preorders are organic when they sold 1M in just 4 days INSANEE.”

Another added, “Million sellers once again!🙌🏻 it's honestly insane how much they've grown, nct dream is so powerful like they keep on breaking records here and there and i'm just beyond proud of them.” One fan said, “NCT DREAM IS MONSTER PHYSICAL 🤗😁Nct dream congratulation 1 Millions seller just 4 day's.” Another was confident that this would lead to NCT Dream charting on Billboard 200, “NCT DREAM will debut on Billboard 200 FOR THE FIRST TIME because SM ships their albums on time FOR THE FIRST TIME and NOT because of any distributor (which they don't even have one). CONGRATS NCT DREAM!”
