Back in 2021, fans were excited when Haechan became the last NCT 127 member to finally open an Instagram account. He opened it to promote their record-breaking album ‘Sticker’ but it looked like he had abandoned it since. After one video, he stopped using the account. But a couple of days ago, he shared with fans that he was thinking of opening another Instagram account. This time it would be personal. Well, on March 17, the Instagram account @haechanahceah was born.

Haechan announced his new account by posting the concept photos for NCT Dream’s album ‘Glitch Mode’ and captioned it with a ‘Hi’. Mark shared a screenshot of the new account on his Story and captioned it with “Aigooooo let’s goooo.” Doyoung then commented on Haechan’s post with “Haestagram.” In response, Haechan said, “My Insta role mode, Doyoung sunbaenim.” Fans loved the mini NCT interactions and decided to also welcome him by sending him DMs (direct messages). However, they noticed that they couldn’t send any.

Haechan restricts Instagram DMs

It seems that Haechan did his research before opening the account. He has limited the type of people who can send him DMs. According to Instagram, this means that “they don’t allow new message requests from everyone.” While fans love to message their idols in hopes of being noticed, it also allows toxic and delusional fans to be weird while trolls get a chance to cyberbully them.

This was visible in the way some fans were ready to welcome Haechan on Instagram by messaging him and were then unhappy when they found out about the restriction. One NCTzen joked, “Haechan turned off the message request ill KMs &₩&@:@?!” Another hoped, “I wish haechan doesn’t teach other neos to turn off message request on ig.” One NCTzen shared, “The instagram message telling me that he will never read me. There's no need to stick the knife 😭 I'm seriously angry,” to which someone commented, “We still have the comments go spam.” Another had been excited previously, “Cant wait for haechan insta so i can slide into his dms.”

'Haechan thank you'

Most fans were relieved that Haechan had taken this action as one NCTzen posted, “Haechan, sir, thank you for closing your message requests…” Another commented, “Someone tell all the other idols take notes 😭😭how is he so smart.” One fan added, “Love how haechan doesn't allow new message requests on his ig because a lot of y'all are f**king weird.” Another made a reaction meme, “Haechan on his way to turn his message requests off because every nctzen is obsessed with him.” One fan was happy, “Haechan is right to block messages on insta, he should be free of the hate that idols receive by dm.”
