'DWTS' Season 31: Was Gabby Windey robbed off a perfect score? Fans slam judges, say she 'deserved 10s'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Week 5 of 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 31 began with "Stars' Stories Week: Most Memorable Year," a two-night event. Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy hit all the right notes with the viewers, making them wonder how the judges missed out on giving the duo the perfect score.

The 'Bachelorette' described her experience as an ICU nurse during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 in her intro package. "It does have a heavy place in my heart," Gabby admitted. "It was terrifying. I saw a lot of death, a lot of isolation, especially since families couldn't be there with them," the reality star added, adding that the pandemic "taught me a lot of patience and a lot of perseverance."

Gabby and Val paid respect to healthcare workers with a Foxtrot to JP Cooper's "If the World Should Ever Stop." Judge Carrie Ann feels she's lovely and captivating, but she's still a touch reserved. Judge Len Goodman praised it for its wonderful, lyrical flow and natural simplicity. Judge Derek Hough thought it was elegant as well, and he liked the twists and leg extensions. According to Judge Bruno Tonioli, she was soaring high and spinning like no other, and she looked gorgeous.

It may have seemed strange to judge a foxtrot after hearing about her experience, but the judges gave her a high score of 36 out of 40. Even though she finished fourth on the leaderboard, fans at home weren't happy. Fans are already demanding for her to get a full score tomorrow night since she was robbed of the opportunity: "Gabby better get a 10 on her tango tomorrow since they robbed her tonight. #dwts." Comparing her score to that of Wayne, a fan wrote: "I love Wayne, but if he deserved a 10 so did gabby. #dwts." Accusing the judges of 'favoritism' a fan wrote: "oooooo these judges are b l i n d shangela & gabby were AMAZING & deserved 10’s this week but favoritism is a sickening disease #DWTS #DancingWiththeStars." Another fan added: "One thing about me is I’m a hater. Gabby deserved 10s. She was an ICU nurse during the pandemic… Charli’s on tiktok. They don’t compare. #DWTS."

Hailing Gabby for her contribution in the frontline during the pandemic, fans wrote: "The pandemic traumatized every single nurse who cared for Covid patients. Most of us have some form of ptsd. Thanks for the tribute Gabby. Beautiful." Another fan added: "Hope this made y’all recognize Gabby is more than the bachelorette girl!!" One emotional fan tweeted: "Continuing to watch #DWTS in my mother's honor. She was the show's biggest fan (it was mentioned in her obituary) and died from COVID earlier this year - so Gabby's story really hit home for me." One fan was forced to believed that her missing out on the perfect score was due to the fact that she went after Charli: "To be perfectly honest, I feel like gabby would have gotten 10s if she went after Charli. Gabby deserved it but they wanted Charli to be the first."
