SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: TWICE is undeniably the most loved K-pop girl group when it comes to their music. However, the group also is known for releasing songs that define their music style. Be it 'Alcohol-Free', 'Cheer Up', 'Fancy', 'I Can't Stop Me', 'The Feels' and now, 'Talk That Talk' among others, TWICE's songs have a very 'TWICE-esque' feeling to them which makes even a non-fan understand that the nine-member girl group from JYP made the song.

However, while Onces (fans of TWICE) take this as a compliment to their girl group creating a versatile genre with their music, fans of Blackpink do not usually take this comment as a compliment. This is why, as soon as it was announced that both Blackpink and TWICE were going to make a comeback in the same month, fans of both competing girl groups were ready for a fierce competition. While Blackpink made a comeback with 'Pink Venom' for the first time in almost two years, TWICE released their 11th mini-album, 'Between 1&2' with the title track, 'Talk That Talk' nine months after their last full-length comeback.

Trolls claim TWICE's 'Talk That Talk' is a flop

TWICE released 'Talk That Talk' on August 26 with the rest of their six-track mini-album, 'Between 1&2' which the girl group promoted with the idea that the album was specifically made for Onces and TWICE members. The single entered various domestic charts after its release and ranked at Number 5 on Bugs, #34 on FLO, #35 on MelOn, and #44 on Genie as of August 27. Since Blackpink's 'Pink Venom' was an immediate global success as it topped various charts in South Korea as well as in the rest of the world, Blinks and fans of other girl groups allege that TWICE's new comeback is a failure.

These trolls claim that since 'Talk That Talk' from TWICE was not able to top charts immediately after its release, the song is a flop. One user said, "Twice has now achieved their 3rd Flop comeback straight in a Row. 1. Alcohol-Free 2. Scientist 3. Talk That Talk [NEW]." Another user said, "Is it just me or twice really on their flop era from the views streams and charts even 4th gen can do better than them talk that talk tanked that is the truth #TalkThatTalk #BETWEEN1and2 TALK THAT TALK." Another user said, "Talk that talk is so f**king flop, but i still support GodJihyo." One more user said, "ONCEs can't accept that Talk That Talk is a big flop. Nayeon is single handedly carrying the whole group, the rest is garbage."

'Hater's gonna hate, TWICE gonna play'

Fans of TWICE defend the girl group stating that 'Talk That Talk' will soon rise on the charts as they claim that the girl group does not need any chartings anymore to define their success as TWICE's discography speaks for itself. One fan said, "TALK THAT TALK BADASS TWICE doesn’t miss. People just hate their success. They can keep crying about it." One more fan said, "Y'all called pop a flop when it debuted at 81 but it’s one the most successful female soloist songs ever. talk that talk will rise on monday trust."

Another fan said, "I’m not sure why but twice is getting a lot of hate rn so i’m making a post for them bc i love those girls they are so sweet. if you don’t like their music pls just simply don’t listen to it. stop spreading so much hate." One fan said, "ANYONE WHO SAID TALK THAT TALK IS A FLOP MUST BE A HATER, a blink, or people with bad hearings lmao." One more fan said, "A blink using charts as a counter for measuring established discography identity and quality? NO WONDER." Another fan said, "Blonks will be here uninvited with their faves same old sh*t for past 5 years. I don't know how they're this brave when all their faves do pots n pans and horrendous music. Atleast twice songs sound different y'all faves only know two beats and nonsensical lyrics."
