SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: K-pop variety shows are all the rave these days which is why fans enjoy watching their favorite idols on popular entertainment shows like 'Running Man' or 'Knowing Bros'. Another variety show that is fairly loved in South Korea but gets comparatively limited international recognition is KBS' '2 Days & 1 Night'. The show stars various celebrities who traveled to places in South Korea over two days and often features popular K-pop groups that attend the show to promote their music.

The show started in 2007 and over the years has had several lineup changes while it shot to international fame in 2021 after the departures of Kim Seonho and VIXX's Ravi due to personal reasons. As fans of K-pop continued to request their favorite groups to be invited to the KBS variety show, the network has taken fans very seriously as they have announced a spin-off of '2 Days & 1 Night' titled 'Dol Night, 2 Days' featuring famous K-pop idol groups. It has been rumored that aside from IVE, popular groups like Seventeen, TXT, NewJeans, TWICE, Girls Generation, NCT 127, and many more will be a part of the '2 Days & 1 Night' Idol version spin-off show that fans are looking forward to.

IVE becomes first guest on idol version of '2 Days & 1 Night'

The idol version of KBS' '2 Days, Idol Night' (Literal translation Dol Night, 2 Days) will be kicking off on August 28 and their first guests will be none other than Starship Entertainment's record-breaking rookies IVE. The upcoming variety shows spin-off will feature K-Pop groups giving fans a K-pop idol version of the popular variety show. It is reported that IVE will be kickstarting the show by becoming the first K-pop idol on the new weekend program.

The Starship Entertainment rookie girls IVE will be traveling to different regions in Korea that show the beauty of the country while playing games and living their best life eating and drinking to their hearts' content. 'Dol Night, 2 Days' will premiere next week starring monster rookies IVE who are currently promoting their new single 'After Like' that was released on August 22. The KBS variety show, 'Dol Night, 2 Days' will be broadcast on August 28 at 8 pm KST (7 am ET) on the YouTube Channel - KBS Kpop.

Other groups rumored to join the show

With IVE hosting the premier of KBS' variety show 'Dol Night, 2 Days', there has been a lot of buzz about the other groups that will attend the new idol version spin-off. From the teaser of the show, we can expect that HYBE label groups like NewJeans, Seventeen, and TXT will attend the upcoming KBS show. The trailer also showed second-gen representative girl group SNSD aka Girls' Generation who celebrated their 15th Anniversary this year raising curiosity amongst fans.

Other than that, SNSD's labelmates, SM Entertainment's NCT 127 is also rumored to be a part of the K-pop spin-off of KBS' '2 Days & 1 Night'. JYP Entertainment's representative girl group TWICE is also featured on the poster of the show heralding rumors of their appearance on 'Dol Night, 2 Days' that will premiere soon. Fans are also pouring in their requests for their favorite groups to appear on the show as excitement for the variety show builds.
