'American Idol' Season 22 fans troll Alyssa Raghu as singer leaves ABC reality competition for the third time

SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: Alyssa Raghu returned to 'American Idol' this season, believing that a third time would be the charm. As the singer's journey draws to an end yet again, fans are pleading with the musician to take the "hint" and not audition again in the future.

On April 1, Alyssa had her third Showstoppers performance, 'I Will Survive,' by Gloria Gaynor. Kaibrienne "KB" Richins sang 'Simple Man' by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which was intriguing given that Ajii performed the same song for his first Hollywood Week performance.

KB and Alyssa faced the final judgment from the judges together. Alyssa and KB had to sing their way into the Top 24.

The vocalists picked between Lady Gaga's 'Shallow' and Lauren Spencer-Smith's 'Fingers Crossed'. The judges stated that the singers had to compete since they "fought" for the two finalists.

Alyssa was spotted wiping away tears while KB sang 'Shallow' following Alyssa's performance. "I'm literally crying because it just means so much to me," Alyssa said as she hugged KB after the concert.

After the two girls left the room, the judges deliberated, and Katy Perry declared it the "best Alyssa has ever sounded." However, in the end, KB took the cake and made it to the Top 24!

On X, viewers who weren't previously excited about the way Alyssa landed into the Season 22 auditions shared their thoughts about her elimination.

One user tweeted, "Good choice. Alyssa Raghu just did not sit well with my spirit after she hijacked her roommate’s audition." Another user wished, "Let’s hope that Alyssa gets the damn hint. THIS IS THE END OF IDOL FOR YOU." 

One angry user wrote, "If Alyssa Raghu shows up in yet another future season I'm hiring a PI to find out what the heck she's got on one or more producers as leverage." A fourth user thanked Luke Bryan, writing, "I’m glad it was Luke 2 send Raghu home…..THANK U LUKE!" 

One user snarked, "Good luck KB! Raghu had her chance before!" Another added, "Raghu did her friend dirty. In the end, she was sent packing."

"You have been an amazing part of Idol, and we think you're going to be able to go spread your wings without Idol," Luke Bryan said to Alyssa following the sing-off. "This is the end of the road for you, Raghu."

On 'American Idol' Season 22, KB received three yeses from Lionel, Katy, and Luke, but believe it or not, the 20-year-old has struggled with stage fear. She developed her interest in singing when she was twelve years old.

Before then, she'd seen her elder sisters perform in school musicals and then come home and watch singing videos on YouTube to learn to sing herself. The encouragement she received from friends, family, and instructors that day pushed her to continue singing.

But she'd develop stage fright and, for a while, claimed to have run away from her ambition. While on Idol, KB recounted her journey to overcome Hashimoto's illness, which she was diagnosed with in fourth grade.

Thyroid disease makes it harder to manage emotions and can lead to cardiac problems.
