For fans who have been rooting for one of reality TV’s sweetest love stories, this one might sting a little. According to a report by The U.S. Sun, Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman have gone their separate ways after nearly five years together. Yes, that couple, who many viewers thought would be walking down the aisle sooner rather than later. A source confirmed the breakup, saying, “Sadly, it’s true that David and Abbey broke up. They couldn’t come to an agreement on when to get married. She was ready years ago, he still needed time.” Another insider, speaking from Isaacman’s side, shared a slightly different tone but still confirmed the split: “They did break up, but he is doing very well.”

The pair first met on ‘Love on the Spectrum’ in 2021, during its first season. Right from the start, there was something about their connection that stood out. Their first date, set in a wildlife park, became a fan favorite. Between chatting about lions, swapping thoughts on Disney films, and just being their genuine selves, they created a moment that viewers didn’t forget. From there, their relationship grew both on camera and beyond it. Over multiple seasons, audiences watched them take steps that felt real and unfiltered. In many ways, Romeo and Isaacman became the heart of the show. Their story reflected what the series set out to do: show honest relationships involving people on the autism spectrum. They stayed together for close to five years, marking anniversaries and sharing glimpses of their life online.

Fans followed along closely, cheering them on like they were part of the journey. But even the strongest-looking couples can hit a crossroads. Marriage had been part of their conversations for quite a while. Romeo, in particular, had been open about wanting to take that next step. As early as Season 2, she spoke about her hopes for a wedding and what she imagined that day would look like. Fast forward to Season 4, which dropped on April 1, and the topic had not gone away. In fact, it seemed closer than ever. During one scene, Romeo even asked her mom, “What if he gives me a wedding ring?” Furthermore, when fellow cast members Madison Marilla and Tyler White got engaged in the same season, Romeo became even more vocal about marrying Isaacman. She shared that she wished to be the next one walking down that path.

And then, things started to feel different. Some fans began to notice that the couple was not posting together as often. Their joint photos became less frequent, and their appearances on each other’s feeds slowed down. It did not take long for questions to pop up in comment sections. People wondered if something had changed or if the couple had simply decided to keep things more private. Now, it seems those suspicions were not entirely off the mark, as a source confirmed their breakup. As for the show itself, ‘Love on the Spectrum’ is not slowing down. Netflix has already renewed it for a fifth season following the release of Season 4, although a premiere date has not been shared yet.
