LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hulu's hit murder mystery series, 'Death and Other Details', is reaching its thrilling conclusion next week. The ten-episode saga, which made its debut on Tuesday, January 16, has captivated audiences with its gripping suspense from the start.

'Death and Other Details' is centered on Imogene Scott (Violett Beane), a young woman who teams up with private detective Rufus Cotesworth (Mandy Patinkin) following a murder aboard a cruise ship.

The plot thickens with a series of subsequent killings, leading Imogene to unravel the mystery behind her mother's unsolved murder case.

Ahead of the finale, let's review the significant clues and revelations unveiled thus far, as we anticipate the real mastermind.

Lawrence Collier admits to killing Kira Scott

In Episode 8 of 'Death and Other Details', Imogene Scott finally uncovers the truth surrounding her mother's death, Kira Scott. She discovers that Kira was a whistleblower intending to expose the illicit activities at Collier Mills. Imogene also learns about Celia Chun's (Lisa Lu) mysterious past.

Fueled by anger, Imogene confronts Lawrence Collier (David Marshall Grant), only to be confused when he mistakes her for Kira. Anna Collier (Lauren Patten), who followed Imogene to the deck, reveals that Lawrence is in the early stages of dementia.

Taking advantage of his illness, Imogene continues her conversation with him, disguised as Kira. Lawrence confesses his love for Kira and admits to making a suspicious phone call, possibly to Victor Sams to orchestrate her murder.

While Lawrence is guilty of a lot of things, his recent illness renders him incapable of orchestrating the recent killings. His dementia is the only reason why he accidently gives away majority shares of Collier Mills to Celia Chun and forgets to announce his daughter as the CEO.

Llewellyn Mathers' guilt and murder

In the concluding scene of Episode 7, Llewellyn Mathers (Jere Burns) is seen jumping off the ship in what initially seems like a suicide, Episode 8 reveals that Llewellyn was also murdered. His suicide note and his final moments makes us believe that he lived a life full of guilt.

Llewellyn served as the Collier family's attorney for many years. He played the key role in paying Celia Chun to maintain silence after few employees died while others got chronically ill due to the use of banned pigment at the factory.

He probably also knew everything about Kira Scott's murder but was bound by his loyalty towards the Colliers, which brought him years of pain and guilt and knew that he deserved punishment for his sins.

When Anna breaks the news of Llewellyn's death to her parents, their reactions sharply differ. Lawrence reminds Anna that she had been advocating for Llewellyn's removal for years, considering his death a favor.

Celia Chun planned a revenge against the Colliers

Celia Chun's past is unraveled in Episode 8 of 'Death and Other Details'. Decades ago, Celia and her husband worked together at the factory, where the use of toxic pigment led to her husband's fatal illness and subsequent death.

Rather than rectifying their mistakes, the Colliers opted to silence the victims' families with hush money, including Celia. After receiving a significant sum from the Colliers, Celia made the decision to change her name and utilized the funds to establish her own enterprise

Over the course of 50 years, Celia methodically built her company, reputation, and resources, all with the ultimate goal of taking down the Colliers and avenging her husband's death.

The presence of numerous VIPs aboard the ship appears to be a calculated move by Celia Chun. She strategically hires Rufus Cotesworth, who had been investigating Kira's murder, as her head of security, suggesting a deliberate plan rather than mere coincidence.

Amidst the escalating chaos aboard the ship, Celia maintains an eerie calmness, seemingly unbothered by the unfolding events, hinting that there's more to her character than it appears to be.

Katherine Collier appears to be Victor Sams

Upon uncovering that Llewellyn was poisoned, the investigative team turn their attention to the staff member responsible for delivering the wine. He maintains his innocence, asserting that he played no role in tampering with the wine ordered by a guest.

To their astonishment, the guest was revealed to be Katherine Collier (Jayne Atkinson).

A search of Katherine's room reveals vials of poison, prompting the investigative team to conclude that she was posing as Viktor Sams, the individual responsible for the deaths of both Llewellyn and Alexandra Hochenverg (Tamberla Perry).

However, skepticism lingers as viewers ponder how a woman entangled in the complexities of marriage, parenting, and affairs could mastermind such intricate plans, maintain a network of spies worldwide, and set up a clandestine server on Sunil Bhandari's (Rahul Kohli) ship.

The investigating team is far from truth as they lose the opportunity to interrogate Katherine who is found dead in the pool.

The circumstances surrounding her death remain uncertain, leaving open the possibility that she either fell victim to someone discovering her secrets or took her own life, driven by the guilt stemming from her affairs and the revelation of Anna's biological father's identity.

Victor Sam's henchmen arrive on ship

While Katherine Collier, presumed to be Victor Sams, lies dead, an armed group unexpectedly boards the ship. Though their identity is not disclosed, Imogene recognizes Andreas, the individual who trailed her and Sunil in Italy, as one of Viktor Sams' henchmen.

Simultaneously, Jules (Hugo Diego Garcia) and Sunil venture to the lower deck in search of the generator to restore power. Instead, they stumble upon a bomb that could blow up SS Varuna and all the passengers on-board.

Episode 8 of Death and Other Details concludes with a gripping cliffhanger as Viktor Sams' team ominously announces a game of survival.

With the true mastermind's identity still shrouded in mystery, anticipation mounts for the impending two-part finale of the season.

'Death and Other Details' Episode 9 and 10 will drop on Tuesday, March 5.
