Rachel Weisz was 'Obsessed' with 'Dead Ringers'
And while speaking to Dailymail, Rachel Weisz was "obsessed" with the original David Cronenberg's directorial 'Dead Ringers' in which Jeremy Irons played the identical twins Elliot and Beverly Mantle.
And Rachel is the one who brought forth the idea of the newer version of the hit movie to Prime Video and serves as the producer. In the upcoming renewal, Rachel's characters are also named Elliot and Beverly, working as surgeons in New York, and Rachel has confirmed that the show also shows the relationship between the twins. Rachel went on to open up about the twin roles that she is playing.
"Beverly is altruistic, thoughtful, careful, and kind. She wants to change the way women give birth. Eliot is very, very different. She's not altruistic and she is pushing the boundaries of what's ethical."
The upcoming six-part series is also set to follow the twin gynaecologist surgeons who share everything that leads them to a tragic breakdown influenced by drugs. It has also been confirmed by the writer of the show, Alice Birch, that elements of the infamous tragic death of Eva Rausing, who was found dead due to dependent abuse of drugs, has been used.
