Created by Dan Erickson and produced by Ben Stiller, the dystopian science fiction universe of 'Severance' Season 1 features a cult-like Lumon Corporation that divides employees' memories and personalities into two: an innie for the workplace and an outie for the outside world, with neither having access to the other's experiences. This is significant since not much else about Helly's life as an outie has been made public.
