As of March 29, all seven members have tested positive in the past for Covid-19. The seventh and last member to get infected was none other than the maknae (youngest), Jungkook. In fact, just last week, J-hope had tested positive. He had shared that he did not have any extraordinary symptoms and would do his best to recover quickly and join BTS on their busy schedules for April.

The global K-pop group is set to perform at the Grammys where they are also nominated. This is also their first solo, in-person performance at the American music award show. Fans were further excited as following the Grammys, BTS is set to have four concerts in the same city. They were proud that it was being held at the biggest arena in Las Vegas, the Allegiant Stadium which has a capacity of 65,000 seats. And preparations were underway as the six BTS members except for J-hope travelled to Las Vegas on March 27.

Jungkook gets Covid-19 in Las Vegas

Their label, Big Hit shared that BTS would be flying to Las Vegas early so that they could prepare for their performance at the 64th Grammy Awards which is set to take place on April 3. We also saw Jungkook leaving much earlier than the rest of BTS for some extra arrangements. Unfortunately, their preparations have been hindered. On March 29, the label released a statement saying that Jungkook had been diagnosed with Covid-19.

Big Hit explained, “After arriving in Las Vegas, [Jungkook] felt a slight discomfort in his throat and promptly took a rapid PCR test and a standard PCR test on the afternoon of Sunday, March 27 (PT). While being under self-quarantine as a proactive measure, the result of both tests came back positive, and Jungkook was confirmed with COVID-19 on Monday, March 28 (PT).”

At the moment, the BTS star is under quarantine and is being treated according to the pandemic guidelines of Las Vegas. The label also added that fans need not worry as Jungkook does not have any other symptoms except for a mild sore throat. However, his participation in the activities scheduled for April will depend on his recovery and the Covid-19 restrictions of the city.

'Get well soon'

Fans have taken to social media to send Jungkook supportive messages and wish for his speedy recovery. One ARMY tweeted, “Hope jungkook and hobi have a speedy recovery, love them so much :(.” Another fan said, “Hoping there'd be no more symptoms... jungkook please get well soon :((.” One posted, “Knowing how jungkook left early baby must be so excited to perform and meet armys he must be worrying about us more right now i hope he doesn't blame himself for anything and take good rest.”
