Covid in K-pop: J-hope is the 6th BTS member to fall ill, hopes to perform in Las Vegas
Suga, Jin, RM, Jimin, and V had all tested positive for Covid-19 over the last few months. And while they have all recovered, unfortunately, J-hope aka Hobi has become the sixth BTS member to be diagnosed with Covid-19. On March 24, fans were shocked when the K-pop label Big Hit shared that J-hope had fallen sick.
Big Hit released a statement on Weverse where they explained that J-hope had gotten symptoms like a sore throat on March 23. He had immediately gone to a hospital and gotten a PCR test done. Well, on March 24, his test came back positive and he has been diagnosed with Covid-19. However, the label assured fans not to worry, “J-hope has completed up to his third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.” They added that the BTS star also did not have any other extraordinary symptoms except for the sore throat and would simply be treated at home where he was in quarantine.

J-hope to join BTS for Vegas performances in April
It should be noted that BTS is set to fly to USA to perform at the Grammys on April 3 and then have their ‘Permission To Dance On Stage - Las Vegas’ concerts. And with the new Omicron strain being less lethal, positive patients are recovering rather quickly. Big Hit shared that J-hope was planning to join the rest of BTS for all of the activities that are scheduled to take place in April as they were confident he would recover soon with his home treatment.
BTS has been quite busy since November 2021. They had their first performance in front of fans at the 2021 AMAs in LA followed by a four-day concert at So-Fi stadium. It was followed by a three-day concert on their own turf, at the Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea in March. The global K-pop group is now set to perform at the Grammys where they are also nominated. Following the music award show in Las Vegas, they will have a mega-concert series in the same city on April 8 and 9, and April 15 and 16. BTS' Las Vegas concerts will be held at the Allegiant Stadium, the biggest arena in the city.
‘Get well soon’
In the meantime, fans are sending supportive messages to J-hope. One ARMY tweeted, “Noooo :( get well soon hobi!” Another fan posted, “Virtual hug for our hobi.” One shared, “Get well soon hobi. sending you as much strength as we can!” Another fan brought back RM’s words, “‘COVID get the hell out.’ GET WELL SOON HOBI.
