Mnet announces live broadcast of 2022 Grammys, fans wonder if BTS will win this time
Does the exclusive broadcasting announcement from the Korean broadcast network Mnet mean that BTS is sure to win a Grammy this year? Well, fans of BTS are sure that something seems off now as one of the most popular networks of South Korea has announced an exclusive live broadcast of the 2022 Grammy Awards on the day of its release. Mnet announced that the network will broadcast the Grammys live at the same time as its original release in America for Korean fans of the group to enjoy the show where BTS is set to perform for a live audience for their first solo stage.
BTS has been nominated for the second year in a row in the ‘Best Duo/Group’ category, this time for their hit 2021 single, ‘Butter’ and while their 2020 single, ‘Dynamite’ was not able to snag the boy group a win last year, Mnet’s sudden announcement has given fans reason to believe this year will mark BTS’ first Grammy award. Six out of seven members of BTS have already departed for the US in order to attend the 2022 Grammys and their highly anticipated four-day April concert - ‘Permission to Dance on Stage - Las Vegas’. J-Hope is now the only member of the group who is still in South Korea, currently quarantining as he recovers from Covid-19 before leaving for Vegas on April 1.

Mnet to broadcast Grammy 2022 live
The year also 2022 marks the seven-member boy band’s fourth consecutive year appearing as guests at the Grammy and their third on-stage performance in a row. Back in 2020 BTS performed on the Grammy stage for the first time with American singer, Lil Nas X for his hit single, ‘Old Town Road’, and then again in 2021 for BTS’ first solo stage for ‘Dynamite’. Fans of BTS usually resorted to pirated streams or delayed broadcasts to see the pride of Korea on the Grammy stage but this time around, BTS is set to perform a solo stage in front of a live audience for the first time.
On March 28 it was reported that Mnet has announced an exclusive broadcast of the show for Korean fans. The ‘64th Grammy Awards’ which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA on April 3 will be broadcast in South Korea live for fans. Mnet will broadcast the 64th Grammys live on April 3 at 8 pm ET (April 4, 9 am KST).
