It looks like the non-lethal but infectious Omicron outbreak that started out in mid-January has now gotten to the point that it is hindering huge gigs of K-pop idols. Just hours before Rose’s diagnosis, it was reported that Loona would be dropping out of the survival show ‘Queendom 2’s round 1 due to three members getting Covid-19. While they have a huge fan following, they are still a little underrated and fans had wanted to see them on the show that would have given them a global platform to showcase their skills. And now, it has been announced that Blackpink’s Rose has tested positive on the eve of Paris Fashion Week.

Blackpink had turned heads for several reasons at the Paris Fashion Week in 2021 for Spring/Summer 2022 collections. While Jisoo, Jennie and Rose turned out to be the main attraction at the shows they attended, fans protested for Lisa as Bvlgari’s CEO claimed that her label had stopped her from attending their shows due to the risk of Covid-19. Well, K-pop Twitter was excited to see what would happen at the Fall/Winter 2022 Paris Fashion Week as they spotted one Blackpink member, Jisoo flying to Paris to support Dior as an ambassador.

Rose gets Covid-19, Paris gig canceled

With Rose being an ambassador for YSL, Blinks (Blackpink’s fandom) were excited to see her at the upcoming Paris Fashion Week. Unfortunately, it looks like it won’t be happening as her label, YG Entertainment shared that some of Rose’s gigs abroad had been canceled. On February 28, Rose took a mandatory PCR test for her overseas schedules and was diagnosed with Covid-19. The other Blackpink members tested negative and all four of them have completed their vaccination. None of them, including Rose are showing any special symptoms. She is the second Blackpink member to get Covid-19 following Lisa in November 2021.

Worried fans made tweets like, “Praying for the fast recovery of our ROSÉ.” Another Blink posted, “And this is why she canceled going to Paris. Get well soon uri rosie.” One fan shared, “I dont care about anything else but rosé's health comes first. Please get well soon rosie.” Another commented, “Best wishes that you will soon be back to doing all the things you love. May good health envelop you, spurring a quick recovery to our Rosie.” One fan pointed out, “Blinks literally got jisoo departing and rosie tested positive for covid in just one hour. such a roller coaster of emotions, huh.” Another fan added, “Rosie posie it breaks my heart knowing you're unwell. Please recover soon. We'll be waiting here always.”
