'The Bachelor' 2023: Fans want to 'bleach' their eyes after Zach Shallcross' makeout session with orange
LONDON, ENGLAND: In a first for Bachelor Nation, fans witnessed their lead Zach Shallcross host a cocktail ceremony through Zoom. Their jaws fell even further when they saw him make out with an orange.
Queen Coronavirus eventually arrived as the lead of the Bachelor franchise after two years and six seasons. Zach had to put his "journey" to find "love" into Covid lockdown soon after everyone arrived in London. What ensued was a weird, wonderful, and gloriously ludicrous experience. "Virtual cocktail party," in three words.

Why was Zach making out with an 'orange'?
Jesse Palmer enters with terrible news for the women, stating that he spoke with Zach and couldn't spend another day without seeing the ladies. Cut to Zach putting together a lights-and-camera setup in his room with the aid of some producers through video chat. "Later tonight, Zach's going to be holding the first-ever virtual rose ceremony — and unfortunately for some of you, that means you're going to be going home tonight," Jesse says.
In other words, the girls had to bring their A-game to the virtual cocktail party or risk being dumped on national television through Zoom.
The women had their iPad time with Zach one by one. They're all taken aback by the fact that, unlike FaceTime, they can't see what they look like during the video conversation, but they all persevered. The greater issue, of course, is having to converse with Zach rather than simply making out. Unsurprisingly, numerous of the conversations revolve around kissing. Aly Jacobs, on the other hand, brings an orange so they can share a fruity kiss.
Fans cringe at Zach's antics
The Bachelor Nation had a lot to say about the Zoom cocktail party, but one thing they couldn't ignore was the orange makeout session. One user wrote, "The virtual snog and orange makeout sessions made me want bleach my eyes so i never see this show again." Speaking of deprivation, another viewer wrote, "These girls are so deprived of physical attention they are kissing oranges now? It's giving desperation." Another person cringed, "Not them kissing the oranges…" Calling this the strangest thing on the show, a fourth person tweeted, "Zach telling all the girls he will give them the biggest hug and kiss while he has Covid and making them kiss oranges is the strangest thing I’ve seen on this show."
