AB6IX was quite busy in 2021 with their first repackaged album, second studio album, two mini-albums, and a UNIVERSE single. With back-to-back comebacks, fans expected them to take it easy and rest in 2022. But it looks like they have no plans of slowing down as in the new year, the K-pop group has announced that they would be gifting fans with a special album and a concert. On January 17, the group released their sixth physical mini-album ‘Complete With You’.

Following the special album release, we will also be getting a two-day concert by AB6IX. This will be their first offline concert in over two years. In the meantime, while fans wait for the dates of the concert, they have helped AB6IX’s album enter several reputable charts within 24 hours of its release. Along with all the b-sides of ‘Complete With You’, the title track ‘1, 2, 3’ has entered the top 15 of MelOn and charted on Bugs. The album has also debuted in the top 50 of iTunes Worldwide and is in the top 10 of countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Norway.

‘Complete With You’ is a self-produced album

Since their debut, the members have often participated in the making of their albums whether it is in songwriting or composing. However, for ‘Complete With You’, all of the tracks have been written and made by the members with the help of producer On The Road. We have four tracks, each belonging to one member. And the fifth track, which is also the title track, is again made by the member and producer Lee Daehwi. Fans have ended up calling AB6IX the ‘self-produced group of K-pop’ for their hands-on participation in their discography.

Members show individual colors and messages with album

The boy group has revealed the reason for dropping this self-produced album as their first music project of 2022. Daehwi shared that the album was special for multiple reasons, “It’s our first album for 2022. I find it especially meaningful that it’s full of songs written by our members. I hope you will enjoy it.” Donghyun added, “The individuality and charms of each AB6IX member stand out in this feel-good album. It also features a wide range of genres. Hopefully, many people come to love it.”

Woong explained why they decided to come back so soon despite dropping several albums in 2021, “We greatly miss our fans during these challenging times brought on by Covid. This album embodies our longing and desire to be able to meet them again.” Woojin also commented, “I’ve felt good about this album primarily because it feels like we’re giving a gift to our fans. My wish is for our music to be able to comfort the listeners.”
