Somi and Daehwi have never missed a chance to talk about their friendship or how they inspire each other

South Korean-Canadian K-pop singer Somi, real name Jeon So-mi, reacted to a Twitter post about her friendship with K-pop band AB6IX’s Lee Daehwi which spurred a lot of questions.

Somi, the 19-year-singer and songwriter debuted in a girl group I.O.I. after appearing in Mnet’s reality survival program ‘Produce 101’. She later debuted as a soloist in 2019 with her hit single ‘Butterfly’. After debuting as a soloist, within a year, Somi has made a place for herself in the K-pop industry with multiple Mnet nominations and the ‘best female solo award’ from Mubeat. She made her comeback in 2020 with ‘What You Waiting For’ which got her music a Mnet ‘M countdown’ trophy in August 2020.

Daehwi a former WANNA ONE member is best friends with Somi from the trainee days where they both trained under JYP Entertainment. Somi and Daehwi have never missed a chance to talk about their friendship or how they inspire each other. Somi once revealed the duo’s pre-debut pictures but receiving a negative response, she deleted them later. In 2019, after shooting a commercial with Daehwi, Somi said, “Because I got to film the commercial with my friend, it felt like we were just playing and hanging out all day [instead of working].”

Daehwi also talked in a show about how they know each other since middle school and always managed to stay by each other’s side through thick and thin. He also takes inspiration from Somi’s songwriting experience, the 19-year singer and songwriter shared.

But currently, people online are questioning what exactly Somi meant when she replied to a clip posted by one of the fans where the video said “daewhi and somi” and She wrote under the clip ‘so true’.

While some are just adoring their friendship with comments like, “SOMI AND DAEWHI BEST FRIENDS WE LOVE TO SEE IT” and "daewhi & somi besties for life”, others are asking if Somi just pushed Daewhi out of the closet.
