Chungha’s comeback with ‘Killing Me’ is now closer than ever. Everyone’s favorite K-pop songstress made her first comeback of the year with her first studio album in early 2021 and disappeared. She released the multilingual album, ‘Querencia’, in February consisting of several iconic singles like ‘Stay Tonight’, ‘Dream of You’ and ‘Bicycle’. The album and the lead singles did quite well as they topped the charts and became her best-selling album yet. Chungha also had some much-loved collaborations with the likes of Rain and Colde and she also joined I.O.I’s reunion, her former group.

But Byulharangs (Chungha’s fandom) have been in a drought when it comes to music. But don’t fret because Chungha has finally made her return. Before announcing her single, she was featured in the survival show, ‘Street Woman Fighter’, where she recorded the single, ‘Bad Girl’, for the dance crew LACHICA. She also sang the OST for the K-drama, ‘One the Woman’ which stars her former group member, Kim Doyeon. And now, Chungha is ready to drop her special single ‘Killing Me’.

Concept

Since it has been a while since Chungha had a comeback, the K-pop soloist is going all out for it. She released four sets of concept photos. She first teased the comeback with a minimalist poster of her hand with a sprig of flowers taped to her wrist. In one teaser, she looks cozy as she is wrapped in a blanket followed by a dark and mysterious concept as she looks down at the camera with bloodshot eyes. She then shows off her sentimental side with a set of youthful photos wearing lace and flowers on her face.

Music video teaser

Chungha also released two music video teasers which have fans excited for the release. In the first teaser, surrounded by upbeat synths, Chungha eagerly awaits going to a party. In the second teaser that she dropped on November 26, we see the party go wrong as Chungha looks scared in a bathroom as she sings “It’s killing me.”

Fans are excited for the comeback as one Byulharang tweeted, “Chungha's make-up artists and stylists need a raise.” Another was excited for the performance, “This is a part of the Choreo ? I'm losing my sh*t fr.” One fan guessed at the concept, “Okay,, so what if this is about her being happy on the outside and pretending everything is fine but she's actually hurting on the inside because this is exactly what I'm getting from this.” Another shared, “Chungha got tired of waiting for a role in a horror project and went "Fine, I'll do it myself" and made a whole spooky theme concept, AND IT'S SUBLIME!”
