Chungha 'Killing Me': Soloist makes comeback with single, fans say 'queen is back'
Chungha is also the first female K-pop idol to be invited to perform at Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Season
Byulharangs (Chungha’s fandom) don’t have to wait anymore because our favorite K-pop soloist is back. Chungha has announced that she’s coming back with a special single ‘Killing Me’. She entered 2021 with a bang as she dropped her first-ever studio album ‘Querencia’. The multi-lingual album had English, Spanish and Korean songs as she dropped several dance-pop and R&B singles of the album. The album did quite well as it debuted at #1 on Gaon, the tracks charted on Bugs while ‘Bicycle’, the title track debuted at #2 on Bugs and Genie.
The album also did well internationally as Chungha topped iTunes, entered the top 3 of US iTunes and even charted on Billboard. ‘Querencia’ debuted in the top 10 of Billboard World Albums Chart and at #5 on the Heatseekers Albums Chart. She was also featured in Rain and Colde’s singles but then she disappeared making fans wonder what she was up to. She was seen on a couple of variety shows like ‘On And Off 2’, I.O.I’s reunion and at a friend’s wedding but that was it.
Chungha comes back with ‘Killing Me’
Well, Chungha made her return after dropping the collaborative song ‘Bad Girl’ for her dance crew LACHICA that were participating in the survival show ‘Street Woman Fighter’ last month. She also sang it live during their performance at the finale. It was also reported that she had lent her voice for the OST ‘Someday’ for the K-drama, ‘One the Woman’. The K-drama also stars former I.O.I member Doyeon. It has also been announced that Chungha is the first female K-pop idol to be invited to perform at Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Season in January 2022. And now she’s coming back with the special single ‘Killing Me’.
Chungha dropped a poster in which we see her hand with a sprig of flowers taped to her wrist with a bandage. ‘Killing Me’ will be released on November 29 at 6 pm KST (4 am ET). Many fans think that it is a pre-release of her next album. With ‘Querencia’ and the title track ‘Bicycle’ being released in February 2021, Chungha is coming back after nine months.
