Concept
The girls show off their duality in the two concept photos. For the first teaser, the girls are in a cage with cracked glass wearing custom pink Mugler bodysuits. They look elegant and charismatic with sleek hairstyles and dewy makeup. The pink theme with lethal elements like the broken glass further represents Blackpink’s strong identity and the concept of the song.
For the second teaser, we get a gritty concept as Blackpink sports darkcore outfits and sultry makeup. We see a new side of Jisoo with bangs and a lip piercing. Jennie looks mysterious in minimal makeup and gold face jewelry. Looks like Rosé is about to kickstart the next K-pop trend with rhinestoned lips. Lisa channels her inner rebel with a turtle neck and wet hair look.
Music video teasers
On August 12, YG Entertainment released teaser videos of each of the Blackpink members with which we finally get a better glimpse of their concept. The girls are all in cages with cracked glass while sporting the custom Mugler outfits. Each Blackpink member has their own highlight with Jisoo’s ribbon statement piece, Jenny’s rhinestone makeup, Rosé’s ash grey ‘oreo’ hair and Lisa’s long sleek hair in a hairpin. The videos are accompanied by a suspenseful instrumental and quick transitions that YG shared expressed Blackpink’s charm in the intense track ‘Pink Venom’.
