The YouTuber claimed that Red Velvet's Yeri had caught the 'Jennie disease' as she was copying and wearing the same outfits as the Blackpink star

It looks like the infamous Korean gossip YouTube channel has struck again. K-pop fans have been tired as YouTuber Sojang has been targeting K-pop idols with rumors that are then used by trolls to hate on them. We had baseless rumors from BTS’ RM allegedly getting married to NMIXX’s Sullyoon being linked with Monsta X’s Shownu and NCT’s Jisung. The labels and idols have had to personally deny these rumors as the YouTuber has a strong fanbase that allows the targets to be cyber bullied. And now Red Velvet’s Yeri has had to take matters into her own hand. 

Back in December 2021, Sojang had accused BTS’ V of causing a drunken ruckus. Along with denying the rumor, the idol shared that he was going to take legal action. But it seems that the YouTuber was not intimidated. Well, Red Velvet’s Yeri became the next idol to take a shot at the YouTuber. With the idol actress and Blackpink’s Jennie sporting similar items from the same brands, the YouTuber claimed that Yeri had caught the “Jennie disease.” This led to several other antis jumping on the bandwagon and claiming that the Red Velvet star was copying Jennie.

Red Velvet’s Yeri slams YouTuber

The Youtuber claimed that Red Velvet’s Yeri had recently changed her style to be more like Blackpink’s Jennie. They then claimed that these “dramatic outfits and makeup…does not suit her,” and added that she had caught the “Jennie disease.” Noticing the video on August 4, Yeri decided to slam back at the YouTuber on the platform BUBBLE. Yeri said, “Honestly it’s very pitiful seeing people earning money by picking on other people … lololol that’s why we have to focus on our own life and live happily while loving each other.”

Fans are exceptionally protective of Yeri as she has gotten immense hate since her debut days. She was added late into Red Velvet which had fans of the original lineup unhappy. Furthermore, she had been a minor. She is also constantly mocked for being open about her friendship with male celebrities that have led to several dating rumors. And so, fans were indignant that she had to learn about the YouTube video. One Reveluv (Red Velvet’s fan) tweeted, “I JUST FOUND OUT YERI THREW A HIT AT SOJANG B*TCH!!! u go yeri that witch need to get to her senses.” Another fan posted, “@ SOJANG you f*king b*tchhh rot in hell!!!”

One shared, “I love yerm so much because she's gotten hate for absolutely nothing since she was a literal child, being associated with random ass bg boys whose fans would constantly shit on her. She could've let it get to her but she's never lost her positivity.” Another wondered why antis were giving attention to the YouTuber, “Both Jennie and Yeri follow western trends. Neither one is starting anything. Idk why people hate Yeri so much when she's so chill and never caused trouble.”
