'Between 1&2': TWICE become special agents for album trailer, fans say 'serving looks'

K-pop girl group TWICE to make their first comeback of the year following their contract renewal with 11th mini-album

Following the successful solo debut of Nayeon who made Billboard history while her lead single ‘POP!’ went viral on social media, TWICE has decided to make a comeback. They are currently one of the biggest K-pop groups. They raised the net worth of their label JYPE to 1 trillion won (~$815 million) in the first three months of 2022 with their concerts while also becoming the first girl group to earn $2 million for one US concert. Their previous comeback ‘Formula of Love’ was their best-selling album and debuted at #3 on Billboard 200. And now, TWICE is set to make the first comeback of 2022 with ‘Between 1&2’.

Post contract renewal with their label JYPE, TWICE will be making a comeback with their 11th K-pop mini-album ‘Between 1&2’ on August 26. While fans love the girl group’s cute and summery concepts, we are getting a new side to them in the upcoming album. The TWICE members have also participated in the making of the album with Chaeyoung writing the lyrics for ‘Basics’, Dahyun writing ‘Gone’ and ‘When We Were Kids’ and Jihyo writing and co-composing ‘Trouble’. And we are finally getting more details on 'Between 1&2' like the opening trailer.

TWICE release opening trailer for ‘Between 1&2’

JYPE released the opening trailer for ‘Between 1&2’ on August 8 and fans cannot get over it. We got a glimpse of the different concepts that TWICE is trying for this comeback from special agents to a kitschy Y2K concept reminiscent of the cartoon 'Totally Spies'. We got three different sub-units for the first concept. Dahyun, Jeongyeon and Nayeon are part of the ‘Pathfinder’ team. Sana, Jihyo and Chaeyoung are in ‘Archive’. Mina, Tzuyu and Momo are in ‘Cryptography’. Sporting techwear and everyday props like a weapon, we get the girls prepping for a mission with 90s cartoon animation.

Fans are excited as they trended like ‘#Between1and2’. Jihyo opting for Momo’s signature bangs had everyone doing a double take, “#JIHYO serving looks.” Another ONCE tweeted, “The one-handed paper crumbling is actually pretty adorable. I mean come on! It's Tzu.” One fan posted, “Okay wait holdup SANA WITH BANGS EVERYONE.” Another shared, “I am respectfully asking you to step on me Miss Myoui.”

A ONCE said, “Visuals of RAP LINE.” Another joked, “MOMO MAKING SURE THAT WE'LL STAY LOYAL TO HER.” One fan commented, “NAYEON IN HER RESIDENT EVIL ERA.” Another ONCE wrote, “JEONGYEON WHAT THE F**K PLEASE CALM DOWN.” One fan added, “This era will be the end of me.” Another tried to guess the concepts, “Wooow futuristic with a bit of y2k.”
