Baeksang Arts Awards 2022: Park Bo-gum to host show as his 1st project after military discharge
In what seems like good news for fans of Korean movies and TV shows, actor Park Bo-gum, who is currently enlisted in the military, will make a return and greet fans at a public event. It has been reported that Park Bo-gum will return as the host of the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards that will take place on May 6 this year. Bo-gum has received a lot of love over the years and it is all thanks to his enchanting visuals and charming stage presence that he becomes the returning MC of the K-drama awards program.
It was announced on April 29 that Park Bo-gum had accepted the offer to resume his role after being discharged from the military. With the 2020 show ‘Record of Youth’ being his last K-drama before enlistment, fans were left wondering when they would be able to catch a glimpse of Bo-gum again and it looks like their prayers have been answered quite soon. Aside from this, Park Bo-gum has also reportedly landed a Netflix film, titled ‘Wonderland,’ which will begin filming soon.

Park Bo-gum to host the 2022 Baeksang Arts Awards
The Korean awards show will finally have its much-loved host back after a year's absence. Park Bo-gum, Shin Dong-yup and Bae Suzy had been the hosts for three consecutive years from 2018 until the actor's military enlistment in 2020. In 2021, Shin Dong-yup and Bae Suzy hosted the ceremony in his absence.
Now it seems like the in-demand actor will make his first public appearance for fans who have been patiently waiting to see him again. Over the years, the actor has been the MC on a host of events including the music show, ‘Music Bank’ from 2015 to 2016, The KBS Drama Awards in 2015 and 2016, the 2016 KBS Song Festival, the ‘Music Bank: World Tour’ in 2017 as well as the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2017 and 2019, besides the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Park Bo-gum will be greeting his fans for the first time only five days after his discharge, which has fans over the moon. It has been reported that Bo-gum will officially end his military enlistment on April 30. The ‘Reply 1988’ actor has been serving in the South Korean Navy since August 31, 2020. Over the course of his military service, it was reported that Bo-gum garnered a lot of attention as a one-day instructor in charge of ‘exercise success stories of exemplary leader soldiers’ for a total of 680 trainees.
