LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There was a lot of anticipation for the trailer of ‘The Flash’ movie and even though numerous unwarranted things damaged the film, Warner Bros. never took a step back. After a lot of waiting, the makers finally unveiled the first trailer of the upcoming movie just ahead of the highly-awaited Super Bowl LVII game between Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. The clip featured a lot of amazing sequences, but one thing that stood out was the introduction of Sasha Calle as the ‘Supergirl’.

The iconic comic-book character was introduced in the clip when Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) and Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) were searching for a cave in an unknown location. They found the girl sitting on the floor and looking really out of sorts. As the trailer progresses, we get to see a few glimpses of the character in action and using heat vision on someone. In the concluding moments of the clip, viewers get to see Supergirl saving Barry Allen and Batman from a group of gunmen.

The trailer was met with tremendous response and Calle’s Supergirl seemed to be a highlight of the clip even if she only appears in the trailer for roughly five 5-8 seconds. Fans didn’t shy away from sharing their excitement on seeing Calle as Kara, aka Supergirl, on the screen for the first time after the 1980s and hoped that the actress will continue to be a part of the DC Universe. One of the fans wrote, “Sasha’s Supergirl looks awesome. Excited to see more of her!” Another social media user tweeted, “10/10 this s**t looks so dam good.” Another fan tweeted, “Sasha Calle looks absolutely Perfect and stunning as Supergirl.”

“Sasha Calle looks phenomenal as Supergirl in #TheFlash & she is so badass & powerful as Kara!” tweeted another user. “Look, all I need from THE FLASH is Sasha Calle’s Supergirl to stick around. She looks absolutely incredible in the role and based on how passionate she is about it, I have no doubt she’ll be amazing! Plus, we get a Latina Supergirl and I just think that’s delightful!” wrote another user.

The DC Universe will be following a new direction after ‘The Flash’ and James Gunn has already announced the upcoming slate of films. However, we hope that Calle’s performance in the film encourages Warner Bros. to give her a chance in the new DCU as well.

Calle made her acting debut in 2017 with the miniseries ‘Socially Awkward’. However, her moment of glory came in 2018 when she was cast as Lola Rosales in the blockbuster hit series ‘The Young and the Restless’ for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Younger Performer in the Drama Series category.

Who stars in 'The Flash'?

As far as ‘The Flash’ is concerned, the movie also stars Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, and Michael Shannon in pivotal roles.
