Kalina Jędrusik was an integral part of the influential Kabaret Starszych Panów, or Old Timers’ Cabaret. Born on February 5, 1931, in Częstochowa, she died in August 1991 in Warsaw. Netflix has now taken on this biographical film about the legend of Polish cinema and the stage of the People's Republic of Poland in a story full of scandal, grace, sex appeal, controversy to bring out the life of this Polish Marilyn Monroe.
'Autumn Girl' revolves around the famous Polish singer and actress Kalina Jędrusik who was an iconic woman bursting with fabulousness. Considered a sex symbol of the 1960s and 1970s, she was the epitome of confidence and is remembered to this day. Maria Dębska is a Polish film, theater, and television actress. Initially pursuing music, she completed her first year at the Piano Department of the Academy of Music in Łódź and later became a graduate of the State Higher School of Film, Television and Theater Leon Schiller in Łódź in 2017. On stage, she made her professional debut with the play 'Ripley Underground' by Radosław Rychcik at the Studio Theater in Warsaw. Her works include 'Moje córki krowy', 'Demon', 'Zabawa, zabawa', 'Czarny mercedes', 'W rytmie serca' 'Bez skrupułów' and more. Debska will be essaying the lead role of singer Kalina Jędrusik in the Netflix musical movie.
The rest of the cast includes Leszek Lichota, Krzysztof Zalewski, Bartlomiej Kotschedoff, Katarzyna Obidzinska, Borys Szyc, and Rafal Rutkowski.
