In early September, there was once again a Covid-19 outbreak in the K-pop industry as several idols tested positive. Almost all of N.Flying and Enhypen were diagnosed with Covid-19. While they have recovered, news broke about Astro’s leader JinJin contracting Covid as well, the latest idol to do so. So even though all the other Astro members tested negative, some members decided to self-quarantine themselves since they had come in close contact with him. Sanha and Moonbin were two of the members.

On September 28, Astro’s label Fantagio Music released a statement. They explained that Moonbin and Sanha had to stay in quarantine and constantly get themselves tested until today. But as of September 28, they have been cleared by the concerned authorities. They will resume their activities from September 29. On the same day, it was reported that another member, Eunwoo had landed himself a new gig.

Moonbin and Sanha to resume activities

Moonbin and Sanha are the MCs of MBC’s music show ‘Show Champion’ along with VeriVery’s Kangmin. They were absent for the last episode as they had self-quarantined, leaving Kangmin to host the show alone. But after being cleared, the Astro members will continue their position as MCs along with Kangmin. Sanha has also been scouted to be the main lead for the K-drama 'Your Playlist'. On the other hand, idol actor Eunwoo was in the news last week for purchasing a 4.9 billion won (4.1 million USD) penthouse in cash. The 24-year-old has always impressed fans and continues to do so.

Eunwoo has now been cast in a new fantasy K-drama as well. On September 28, tvN announced that they had finalized the casting for their latest drama ‘Island’. Along with Eunwoo in the lead role, the show also stars Lee Da-hee of ‘Search: WWW’ fame and movie star Kim Nam-gil from the superhit film ‘The Pirates’. ‘Island’ is based on the webtoon of the same name and has already been given the green light for a season 2.

Eunwoo was earlier in talks of joining the K-drama ‘Sweet and Sour Chicken’. But his appearance in ‘Island’ is confirmed with filming starting in October. The tvN show is set to start airing in the first half of 2022. ‘Island’ is a supernatural exorcism drama with the characters fighting evil on Jeju island. Eunwoo is set to play a priest named John with a dark past. He becomes the catalyst for the fight against evil as he clashes with Pan the killer monk played by Nam-gil and the gutsy teacher Mi-ho played by Da-hee.
