They said good things come to those who wait. And as fans waited for the last act by Rhodes Island's Hueston, little did they know that the singer would leave them in tears with a soul-stirring performance on 'American Song Contest'. The end result: He qualified to the semifinals by the jury vote. And all of Twitter was in agreement with the decision.

Hueston performed 'Held on Too Long', something that even host Snoop Dogg said he was almost in tears after hearing that soulful track. Echoing the sentiments were fans on social media. "Hueston was absolutely my fave tonight both song- and performance-wise, so I'm so glad Rhode Island got the jury ticket to the semis! #AmericanSongContest," one of the fans tweeted. "Weirdest thing… I had the volume turned down really low as I was watching #AmericanSongContest and I still managed to tear up listening to Hueston from Rhode Island," another wrote.

"Hueston’s performance in #AmericanSongContest gave me literal chills! Congratulations on moving to the Semi Finals! He absolutely deserved it after that incredible soulful & emotional performance!" a fan opined. While some felt the final minutes of the show, especially the jury decision was rushed, it was still the right call to see Hueston off to the semis.
