Country singer-songwriter Jimmie Allen appeared as a mentor on the latest episode of ‘American Idol’ season 20 aired on Sunday, April 10, and quickly got the fans drooling over him. The Idol season 10 alum not only gave a few helpful pointers to each and every singer in the top 24 list but also performed his brand new single ‘Down Home’ to make the live audience go weak in their knees. The judges too enjoyed his soulful performance.

The 36-year-old crooner had auditioned during the 10th season of the singing reality show but got eliminated before the live voting rounds. He later toured with 10th season winner Scotty McCreery for the latter’s debut album release. In the latest episode, Jimmie Allen also got emotionally touched after Mike Parker performed a rendition of ‘Best Shot’- a popular song by Allen.
