'American Idol’ Top 24: Nicolina's 'unique confidence' wows emotional judges and fans
The latest episode of ‘American Idol’ Season 20 saw the show moving to a Disney resort in Hawaii where the top 24 singers showed their exceptional singing skills with the help of a live performance in front of the judges and a live audience. The singers battled it out to grab a coveted seat in the top 20 and one of the favorites Nicolina showed how it is done.
The teen singer, who had also auditioned for Season 16, performed her rendition of Sia’s hit single ‘Elastic Heart’ and left the judges namely Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie emotional. Getting a standing ovation by the trio along with a huge cheer from the crowd, it smelled like trouble for other contestants. Speaking about her set, Luke Bryan asserted that Nicolina delivered all the emotions whilst also praising the quality of her voice. Lionel Richie dubbed her voice as angelic and mesmerizing. Katy Perry too chimed in and called her a star adding that she is definitely one of the front runners for the finale. Katy asked Nicolina to keep picking songs that resonated with her personally. For the top 20, the audience sitting at home will vote for the deserving singers sending them to the next round.
