Season 20 of ‘American Idol’ premiered on February 26. So far, in the two episodes aired, there have been two singers, namely HunterGirl and Kenedi Anderson, bagging the rare platinum ticket. Judges namely Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie returned to the singing reality show for the fifth time on ABC network.
 
Singers Luke Taylor, Lady K, Christian Guardino, and Aaron Westberry were among those who easily sailed through their auditions. Episode three will now see new contestants trying their best to impress the trio. Among the newcomers are Dontrell Briggs, D3vine, Sam Finelli, Cadence Baker, Ryleigh Madison, and Mark Osborne, who are expected to serenade the judges with their powerful vocals. Abigail Brooks is also one of the new contestants who will also try to move to the next round. But does she have what it takes?

Who is Abigail Brooks?

Abigail Brooks also goes by the name of Abigail Lehrer or Abby Lehrer. She hails from Colorado and studied at The Castle View High School in Castle Rock. She reportedly graduated from Institute for American Musical Theater in 2021. Abigail has an active social media life with close to 3K followers on Instagram and more than 100K followers on TikTok. Her Instagram bio tells us that she auditioned for season 20 of ‘American Idol’. While sharing a picture of hers, she said, “HELLO!! I’m so excited to announce that my audition for American Idol will be airing Sunday the 13th on ABC!!! I can’t wait for everyone to see all the crazy fun stuff that takes place!” adding, “I love you all and appreciate all the kind messages! Here we goooooo!! #americanidol”

The young singing talent is also a winner of the Bobby G Award — she scooped up the prize for Outstanding Actress in 2018. In an interview with the Broadway World in the same year, she revealed she has been "doing theatre for about 8 years.” She stated, “I started with a small youth theatre company called Audience of One. I am going to take a GAP year!” She continued, “I would really like to take the time to look for colleges that I believe would fit me. It could also mean that I end up not going to college if that is what I am led to do.” She added, “I am going to try out for shows around town to get to know the directors here in Denver so that while I am searching for my next step I am still learning from professionals and strengthening my passion for theatre!”

The third episode of ‘American Idol’ season 20 will air on ABC at 8 pm ET. The show is expected to air a total of 18 episodes and is expected to wrap up in late May. The auditions for the new season were held in Los Angeles, Austin, and Nashville. Online auditions were included to with taped virtual sessions. While the format of the show will remain the same, a new platinum ticket has been introduced that will allow the ticket holders to skip the first day of Hollywood Week.
