Having taken up to music very recently, 22- year-old Cole Hallman was anything but confident about his stint on 'American Idol'. He kept feeling that everybody around him were so much more talented an experienced than him. His self-doubting and under-confidence was reflected in his audition performance as well. But when his sister Katie stepped onto the stage and began performing with him, the judges saw an entirely different side to him.

Cole was visibly happier and relaxed while he was singing with his sister. The judges- Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, recognized that he had a lot of potential and decided to give him a chance by putting him through to Hollywood Week, The biggest feedback the judges had for him was to be more confident. Did Cole work on the feedback he received, and manage to impress the judges the second time around? Well, yes and no.

While Cole did make an effort to be more confident, the absence of his sister during Hollywood Week, put a damper on his spirits. He performed to Billy Joel's 'Vienna'. Even though he started off slow, he picked up eventually and left the judges impressed with his vocals. Luke couldn't help but point out again that Cole needed to learn to be more confident and declared that he can't keep making it through "dice rolls". But the judges decided to roll it for him for one last time.

The judges also remarked on how the song he picked didn't completely flatter his vocals but decided to give him a pass for it since he began performing only recently. Fans were pleased with the judges' decision to send him to the next round. A fan commented on the show's YouTube clip of his performance, "When someone gets outside of their comfort zone.....and delivers. That’s how it works." "I really like Cole but I hope the next song he picks really showcases what his voice can do. I can see him being the next Indie Folk star!" wrote a fan. Another fan added, "He has a unique voice. Love it."

'American Idol' Season 20 airs Sundays and Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
