Cay Aliese honors her father Nolan Neal

Cay's father, Nolan, who died of a drug overdose two months ago, played music with her growing up. Her father suffered and repeatedly turned down record deals throughout Cay's childhood. At this point in her life, Cay feels closest to him because of her dedication to singing. Cay performed an original song she composed for her father, 'City of Nashville,' during her try out.

Katy was moved by the story, but she felt nothing for Cay's performance. Luke advised her to "don't be afraid to soar" because she has a distinctive voice. The jury decided to give Cay a chance in Hollywood, although they were not convinced.
