Renewal or cancelation? NBC mulls over fate of 'America's Got Talent: All-Stars' for Season 2
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'AGT:All-Stars' ended with a spectacular finale on Feburary 28, 2023. In a 2-hour star-studded finale, host Terry Crews revealed the winner of the coveted title, the best of the best. Out of the 11 acts that took the stage by storm, a self-taught aerialist Aidan Bryant was hailed the winner. After this spectacular showdown, viewers are left wondering if they'll see Season 2 of 'AGT: All-Stars'.
The series which was released in January 2023 was an extension of the popular 'America’s Got Talent' series and the 70+ shows in the Got Talent franchise produced across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. This program showcases winners, finalists, fan favorites, and viral sensations from previous seasons of the parent series. A new element that made 'All-Stars' different from others in the franchise was the addition of 'superfans' who choose the ultimate winner instead of the judge's panel.

Will there be a Season 2 of 'AGT: All-Stars'?
Can you anticipate an 'AGT: All-Stars' Season 2 renewal following the massive finale event aired on NBC tonight? Or, are we already in the final leg? It's all up in the air as there has been no formal announcement for a second season. On the future of the reality show, the network has not taken a clear decision and may not do so for a long time. Competition shows have somewhat of their own timeline and are virtually always subject to cancelation or renewal.
While there has been no news of a second season, we do hope that the show will return and all three judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel also make a comeback to select the next ultimate champion, and ofcourse, it would be incomplete without Terry Crews hosting the competition.
'AGT: All-Stars' superfans were unappealing
The average 18-49 rating for 'America's Got Talent: All Stars' debut season is 0.53, with 4.94 million viewers. These figures are a very good indication of how a show is performing, especially when compared to other programs on the same channel, even though they do not take into account subsequent delayed or streamed viewing.
Without the live events, we envision it to be a very cost-effective production, but we also believe that the majority of the public finds the idea of "superfans" voting to be unpleasant. This format has never felt truly like 'AGT', especially when you think about the entire country getting to vote. If they do renew this for another season the hope is they would shift to a live format. No matter what is decided, another season of the popular flagship 'America's Got Talent' is scheduled to air in the summer.
You can stream 'AGT: All-Stars' Season 1 on Peacock.
