'The Voice' In Memoriam: From Beverly McClellan to Nolan Neal, all the of contestants who died after show

Some talented singers of NBC's show 'The Voice' died due to various causes in past years

NBC’s hit singing show ‘The Voice’ has brought some beautiful singers to fame. Moreover, the show has caught everyone’s eye because of the well-known coaches it brings every season. The show selects its contestants through public auditions. After being selected for the competition, they are mentored by a panel of four well-established singers.

Some singers’ stories found success on ‘The Voice’, while some’s stories ended on the show. There have been a few competitors who tragically died. Beverly McClellan

Beverly McClellan was one of the competitors in Season 1 of ‘The Voice’. She was part of Christina Aguilera’s team. McClellan had an amazing reputation on the show. She bonded well with the coaches and even gathered a bunch of praises for her singing. She made her place in the finale and stood to be the third runner-up of the show. Later, McClellan was diagnosed with endometrial cancer at the age of 49 and died the same year in 2018.



 

Christina Grimmie

Christina Grimmie appeared in Season 6 of ‘The Voice’. The singing star was part of Adam Levine’s team. She was the third runner-up of the show. Grimmie’s several studio versions topped iTunes charts. Ever since ‘The Voice’, she performed at various concerts. Tragically, at one of her concerts in Orlando, Florida, Grimmie was shot dead while she was meeting her fans. Grimmie was just 22 when we lost her.



 

Anthony Riley

Anthony Riley earned fasted four-chair turn in Season 8. In the competition, Riley teamed up with coach Pharrell Williams. Even after doing pretty well in the competition, Riley withdrew from the show citing personal health reasons. Back then, there were rumors that the singer was a drug addict and withdrew from the show to check himself into rehab. Riley committed suicide at the age of 28 in 2015.



 

Janice Freeman

Janice Freeman appeared in Season 13 of ‘The Voice’. She teamed up with Miley Cyrus. However, the rising star was eliminated in the second round of the competition. In 2019, fans got the news that Janice Freeman died due to an extreme case of pneumonia. She had a blood clot that made all its way to her heart, causing troubled breathing. Janice Freeman had a long history of health issues. She suffered lupus, meningitis, and cervical cancer in the past. We lost her at the very young age of 33.



 

Nolan Neal

Nolan Neal earned his spot in ‘The Voice’ Season 15. After being selected, he teamed up with Adam Levine. However, the singer was later eliminated from the show. Nolan Neal didn’t lose hope. In 2020, he auditioned for ‘America’s Got Talent’. In the same year, the singer publicly talked about his substance abuse and the time he went to rehab. We lost the 41-year-old rising star in 2022. Even though the reason for his death was not confirmed, his cousin, Dylan Seals, said that Nolan Neal died battling substance abuse.



 

‘The Voice’ Season 22 is scheduled to release on September 19 at 8 pm ET/PT on NBC.
