2022 K-pop weddings: Son Dam Bi, Hello Venus' Lime, Shinhwa’s Andy are getting married!
After dedicating the prime years of their life to the entertainment industry and their fans, multiple second-generation idols who are no longer active in the K-pop industry are now taking the next big step of their lives. They are getting married! What's more, multiple K-pop weddings are all happening in 2022.
In December 2021, 2PMs Chansung had shocked fans by announcing his marriage to someone he loved dearly and also stated he is soon to welcome a new child with his fiancee. Fans took this news well and now three more K-pop idols have announced their decision to marry over the last few weeks. After Chansung, a former member of T-Ara, Soyeon, announced that she would soon marry soccer player Cho Yu-min. Soon after that, Shinhwa’s maknae Andy revealed the news of his marriage. This week, K-pop saw two new wedding announcements from soloist Son Dam-bi as well as girl group Hello Venus’ Lime (Chae Joo-hwa) who will both get married in the upcoming year.

Son Dam-bi announces her wedding
Son Dam-bi (Son Dam Bi) who made her solo debut as a singer in 2007 has finally announced her wedding to her boyfriend and former national speed skater, Lee Kyou-hyuk. Son Dam-bi, who announced her relationship with Le Kyou-hyuk in December of 2020 has now taken to Instagram to announce her plans to marry the former national athlete. In her post, Son Dam-bi mentioned that she wanted to share the news that she will get married in May 2022.
Son Dam-bi made her solo debut with the EP, ‘Cry Eye’ and then released many songs in her career. She made her acting debut in the year 2009 with the K-drama, ‘Dream’ but came to be recognized for appearing in the 2019 K-drama, ‘When The Camellia Blooms’. She was also seen on the Korean variety show, ‘We Got Married’ opposite model Marco in the year 2008.
Shinhwa’s Andy to get married in 2022
Second-gen boy group Shinhwa made their official debut 24 years ago and members of the group are known as K-pop legends. The youngest member of Shinhwa, Andy, who is now 41 years old, has announced his decision to get married. On January 19, Andy took to his Instagram account and posted an announcement about his marriage.
In his letter, Andy announced that he had finally met someone that he wants to spend the rest of his life with and she makes him laugh in difficult times and cares about him. Being the youngest member of Shinhwa, Andy is still only the third of the six-member boy group who has made wedding plans. Eric was the first to get married in 2017, and Junjin got married in 2020.
Hello Venus' Lime to tie the knot in March
The girl group Hello Venus made their debut in 2012 as a six-member girl group under FNC Entertainment and officially disbanded in 2019 after the expiration of their contract. Lime, the former member of the group, who is also known by her birth name Chae Joo-hwa, has now announced her plans to get married in March 2022. On January 27, Lime took to her Instagram to post a hand-written message that announced her marriage.
Lime (Joo-hwa) said that she has met a person whom she has decided to marry within the next two months. She said that the man she has chosen to marry is a respectful person who always makes her laugh. She states that even though the news of her marriage seems sudden, she hopes for support and blessings from her fans. Chae Joo-hwa was seen in the web drama, ‘Top Management’ in 2018 alongside Astro member Cha Eunwoo.
