Blackswan to pick either India's Shreya Lenka or Brazil's Gabriella Dalcin as fifth member
There is so much going on with the group Blackswan who have had a rough journey from the get-go in their careers. Now, Blackswan is looking for a new member to join the group as its fifth official member after Hyemi’s exit from the group. Blackswan made its debut with the full-length album titled ‘Goodbye Rania’ in October 2020. Hyemi, the former leader of the group, decided to leave Blackswan after being accused of scamming a friend.
Blackswan went on a brief hiatus after that but as the fate of the group would have it, more controversies including a very public argument between Blackswan members Fatou and Leia, took place on the internet. The group's label DR Music made a public announcement that the controversy had been resolved within the group and was apologetic to raise concerns amongst fans.

Blackswan to get a new member
With the idea of a five-member group in mind, the exit of Hyemi left an open spot in Blackswan. The group already follows a multi-national concept, and all members of the group come from various nationalities. Back in May 2021, Blackswan’s label DR Music announced that they were going to hold a global audition to find their new member that would later join the group after a month-long training in South Korea.
The global auditions ended and DR Music revealed that four new trainees from countries like India, Brazil, America, and Australia were shortlisted as possible new members of Blackswan. Sadly, the American and the Australian trainees announced that they would be dropping out of the training process. The remaining two trainees are now reportedly moving to South Korea for a month-long training period before one among the two is selected.
Blackswan global audition finalists
Two new trainees have now been finalized at the end of the Blackswan global audition held in May 2021. The first trainee that was revealed by DR Music is Brazilian trainee Gabriella Dalcin. Gabriella, who goes by the name Gabs, is an 18-year-old K-pop dance cover artist who is part of the dance cover girl group Queens of Revolution. If selected, she will be the second Brazilian to debut in a K-pop group after Leia who is Brazilian-Japanese.
The audition program also finalized their only Indian trainee as Shreya Lenka, who goes by the name Shriya. Shreya is a 17-year-old and is a dancer, singer, and yogi according to her Instagram account, and is from Odisha (Orissa) in India. Like Gabriella, she also performs K-pop dance covers on YouTube as well as Instagram. In addition to sharing several videos with dance covers, ranging from K-pop to Indian classical dance forms, Shreya also posts various yoga content on her SNS.
