2022 Brand of the Year awards: Winners list has Blackpink Jennie, SHINee Key and Seventeen
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: With 2022 coming to an end soon, the year-end award shows are finally starting. We first got details of The Fact Music Awards 2022 which will kick off the K-pop award shows of the year. And now, the 2022 Brand of the Year awards took place on Sunday, August 28, and honored the likes of Blackpink’s Jennie, SHINee’s Key, Seventeen and more.
Brand of the Year awards is a ceremony hosted by the Korean Consumer Brand Committee and Korean Consumer Forum. They take into consideration the brand reputation of Korean celebrities including K-pop idols and actors who influence the consumer preferences of different brands. The entertainment category of the 2022 Brand of the Year awards accurately awarded popular groups who have been much loved by the general public at the moment including (G)I-DLE, Seventeen and IVE.

2022 Brand of the Year award winners
While the Brand of the Year isn’t about acknowledging artists’ talent, K-pop fans still celebrate the wins as their nominations and wins confirm the artists’ popularity and influence in South Korea. The aftermath affects brand deals, ambassadorships, commercials and modelling gigs. These wins or acknowledgements predict product sales and social media engagement which help brands gauge what the consumer wants and which celebrities to rope in.
This year's awards gave out daesangs (grand prizes) to (G)I-DLE, Seventeen, Jennie, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, IVE, DKZ, Tempest and more. The award show which also coincided with the MTV VMAs 2022 led to Blackpink and Seventeen winning two awards at two different events on the same night which had fans proud.
