Will Monica Garcia's mom Linda Darnell be in 'RHOSLC' Season 4? Bravo star reveals her mother prays to be on show
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: Monica Garcia's mother Linda Darnell have always allegedly wanted to be on the big screen and she also once left everything, including her daughter, to pursue a career in Television. However, Linda's dream came true after she got a series of supporting roles on 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' Season 4 without even officially applying for it.
During 'RHOSLC' Season 4 Reunion Part 2, the Bravo show cast, Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose and Angie Katsanevas discussed Monica and Linda's tumultuous relationship and noted how the reality star's mother impressed them. Whitney then chimed in, claiming that Linda always sounded like she wanted to be in Monica's shoes.
However, Bravo show host, Andy Cohen, was also curious about the same and said, "I was just gonna say that someone who left her 12-year-old to go pursue a career in television So you think your mom was kind of auditioning to be a housewife."
Monica recalled the moment when her mother shared her desire to be on the Bravo show. Monica said, "When I applied to get on the show... I did my final interview... The first place I went to was my mom's and I just laid on her couch and cried."
Monica was nervous about her interview and her mother offered to say a prayer. Monica recalled, "And my mom said let's say a prayer and then she prayed that she would get it instead."
Bravo stars and host left stunned after Monica revealed that her mother prayed to get cast on the show. Monica further added, "She literally said, Lord if it's not Monica let it be me somehow just let it be instead."
Linda Darnell claims Monica Garcia 'begged' her to be on 'RHOSLC'
'RHOSLC' Season 4 star Monica Garcia and her mother Linda Darnell have had a turbulent relationship which the viewers witnessed during the Bravo show. The mother-daughter duo had an explosive argument at Angie Katsanevas' house and Monica accused Linda of just wanting attention from the viewers.
However, Linda took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to debunk her daughter Monica's accusations. Linda claimed that Monica 'begged' her to star in the Bravo show with her and she never wanted to do it. Monica's mother added in the tweet, "She told me all I had to do was cook and speak Portuguese. How did she return the favor? She did me dirty."
Linda further claimed, "Meanwhile, I would never compete with my only child - unless it's sports." She added, "I'm too smart to try to go up against Monica, she'd chew me up and spit me out."
Linda also addressed Monica's accusation of her mom abandoning her and claimed that she always put her daughter's needs above her own. She elaborated, "I'm not a perfect human but I *am* a devoted mother and Vóvó. God bless us everyone."
Monica Garcia accuses Linda Darnell calls Bermuda relatives to cancel filming 'RHOSLC'
During the 'RHOSLC' Season 4 cast trip to Bermuda, Monica Garcia was excited to meet her relatives on her birthday. However, she received a call which revealed that her Bermudian relatives had cancelled meeting her and filming the Bravo show.
Monica was left devastated and tearfully rushed to the bathroom and claimed that her mother, Linda Darnell, called her relatives and asked them to cancel. During the Bravo show Reunion Part 2, a video footage showed Monica and her mother Linda's fractured relationship.
Monica was asked if she had contacted to know why exactly her family cancelled. The reality star revealed that she hasn’t spoken to her mom 'since filming wrapped' and her family suddenly not wanting to meet her in Bermuda is still an 'unsolved mystery.'
The reality star elaborated on the incident, "My mom had messaged production before we all went to Bermuda, and she said 'I wanna go." However, the Bravo show production allegedly said 'no' for Linda to come to Bermuda and "she was very, very pissed."
Monica explained, "She felt like I'm the one that should be there the family remembers me more." Linda then 'threw a huge fit,' which led to Monica's suspicions about her getting in touch with the family she hoped to meet in Bermuda. She added, "I was like did she do this because she was mad she didn't get to come."
'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' Season 4 Reunion Part 3 will air on Tuesday, January 23 at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
