SALT LAKE, UTAH: 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' Season 4 Episode 14 took an unexpected turn when Monica Garcia received some distressing news during her birthday party celebrations in Bermuda.

Through the course of the show, Monica along with her Bravo show co-stars embarked on their annual trip to the island of Pink Sands because Monica claimed to have many family members in Bermuda and that her grandmother was born on the island.

The 'RHOSLC' cast threw a birthday bash for Monica and expected to meet Monica's family too while on the island. But the celebration took an unexpected turn when Monica received the distressing news that the planned visit by her family had been canceled at the last minute, causing her to have a major panic attack.

Monica burst into tears and hastily left the bus, seeking solace in a public bathroom. A concerned Lisa Barlow went after Monica, and through the tears, Monica told Lisa that she believed that her mother, Linda Darnell, was behind this sudden cancellation.

Monica felt abandoned without the support of her family.

After the episode, many viewers also suggested on social media that Monica's mother, Linda, had told her family to back out of appearing on the show.

Internet reacts to Monica Garcia's relatives' no-show on 'RHOSLC' Season 4

One viewer noted on X (formerly Twitter), "Also I do think LD is petty enough to call her family and tell them not to film with Monica after she was invited to the trip. Clearly LD loves the spotlight and wanted more screen time. When she wasn't going to get it she wasn't to punish her daughter. Linda needs help."

Another person added, "I feel like Monica was also embarrassed/stressed that this was her first season... production picked the location based on her...and it was all falling apart. It was very clear Monica was blindsided and devastated by what was happening. It was also clear she believes it was LD."

Another critic said, "Monica’s mom is so evil. Why would she stop her family from seeing and meeting her? Like you took a whole cast out there to experience the culture and meet your family just for an estranged and deranged mother to get involved?"

Another social media user commented, "Did Monica’s mom go that far to tell her family not too meet her. That is just pure evil."

Another internet user wrote, "A mother should not act this way as Monica’s mom acts towards her. That’s just ridiculous." Another person penned, "Finally watching #RHOSLC... I think Monica's mom sabotaged her family visit."

Monica Garcia claps back at critics over 'fabricating' her Bermuda connection

After Monica Garcia revealed that her Bermuda family ditched her in the 'RHOSLC' Season 4, multiple viewers accused the reality star of lying and claimed that none of her relatives were on the island.

However, Monica took to her Instagram to defend herself, sharing, "Production spoke with my family in Bermuda." The reality star continued noting that her production team "Communicated with them, met with them in Bermuda. Went to their homes and visited them."

She added, "Signed stuff to film for my birthday and everything. So, people claiming I don’t have family there or it was a lie can continue to believe what they wish. It will not change the truth."

Monica then shared a series of screenshots of a conversation with her production team and noted, "Waking up to the entire internet thinking I fabricated an entire family history is W I L D."

Monica Garcia's mom Linda Darnell defends herself

Monica Garcia's mom Linda Darnell took to her social media and defended herself after the viewers accused her that she forced Bermudian relatives to back out. She wrote on X, "Are you also going to tell the truth about me not having anything to do with them backing out?"

She added, "Don’t just tell half the truth, tell the whole truth, so help you God." However, Monica slammed her mother and highlighted that her mother Linda needed public attention.

She wrote, "At that time, I did believe that you had something to do with it. Which I told you, on the phone, a couple of days ago. You then talked to me and showed me texts, and we cleared it up, and now I know."

She added, "However, that does not take away from what I felt and thought happened at that time. I was blindsided and I felt humiliated and embarrassed and crushed. However, I still have no idea what happened and why they backed out. There you go, your name is cleared."
