POTOMAC, MARYLAND: Season 9 of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' is well underway, despite a big cast shakeup. However, with Ashley Darby stopping by Fox TV before Season 9 production commences, people worry whether the Bravo checks are in jeopardy.
Bravo's 'RHOP' may have just finished showing the Season 8 Reunion on April 14, but the network isn't going to leave those champagne flutes empty for long, as production for Season 9 begins in earnest next week. Before that, Ashley, a cast member, joins FOX 5 DC to discuss the 'RHOP' reunion, season 8, and other topics.
As pictures from the show finally made their way onto Reddit, fans were forced to ask, "She needs another source of income ASAP." Another user chimed in, "I’m glad she’s getting serious about finding a job, because her days on bravo are numbered."
Other fans noted, "I actually think she could be okay as a news anchor for sports and limited things. She's got a peppy personality in small doses. I do hope she breaks away from Michael. I think RHOP is a ticking time clock to be done & her gna is a joke. I feel like this with her but also she's terrible as a person for the most part.."
A fourth person wrote, "She’s working, I’m not going to fault her for that. She has to get out from under Michaels thumb somehow."
Some fans backed her writing, "You guy are ruthless! You want half of the cast fired but then y’all also get bothered by them solidifying other possible income resources. Let these girls get a gig!" While others disagreed saying, "She is on there like every other week! It’s annoying. Monique pops up on there occasionally too."
Are 'RHOP's Ashley Darby and Michael Darby divorced?
Ashley and Michael Darby were not divorced as of the 'RHOP' Season 8 reunion taping on February 28. Andy Cohen, the reunion host, asked Ashley whether she had any "divorce news" to offer, and after first surprising him by replying "yes," Ashley said, "I have some movement. I'm not divorced, but I have some movement."
Who is 'RHOP's Ashley Darby dating?
Ashley has met a new man, but she's not quite ready to characterize their relationship. The 'RHOP' star spoke up to PEOPLE about her love life despite her split from estranged husband Michael while attending DIRECTV's 'Streaming with the Stars' Oscars viewing party at Spago in Beverly Hills, California.
The mother of two answered, "I have a friend," declining to refer to her new partner as a boyfriend. "We've only been talking for about four months."
She said, "I'm still learning what dating means in this world." "There's a lot of terminology that I'm trying to get the feel for. But we're having fun."
She's known her "friend," whom she chose not to identify, for a very long time. Ashley didn't even know Michael when they first met, which was fifteen years ago.
"I was at a Friendsgiving party, and the party was about to end, and he walked through the door, and I was like, 'Holy...' One of those moments," she recalled. "So yeah, he asked me out. We went out the next day for dinner."
This new man, 49, is closer in age to Ashley, 35, than Michael, 64. He's around nine years older than her previous love interest, 'Summer House' alum Luke Gulbranson, from whom she announced her breakup in January after less than three months together.
Will 'RHOP's Ashley Darby get married again?
During Part 3 of the 'RHOP' Season 8 reunion, which aired on April 14, host Andy addressed Ashley about her love life. "Can you tell us anything about the person you’re dating right now?" he said.
Ashley immediately flushed and giggled before responding, "I have a friend, and he's a nice man." Although Ashley did not divulge the mystery guy's pseudonym, she did identify some of his characteristics that might prevent them from becoming long-term.
She said, "But he doesn’t want to get married, and he has no children, so I think this is just a friendship."
While Ashley's love interest has no plans to take their relationship to the next level, the mother of two informed Andy that she is open to marrying again, adding, "I will be married again."
