Will Ahgases ever leave fandom? GOT7 members make fans an exclusive fan contract
Now that GOT7 has finally made a comeback that is chart-topping and a hit, to say the least, it seems like the members are trying to keep their fans close to them. After a break of 1 year and three months that GOT7 members spent trying to boost their solo careers after leaving their former label JYP Entertainment, the boy group made a comeback with the mini-album ‘GOT7’ which immediately after its release had entered the iTunes Top Albums chart in more than 80 countries.
Not only that, but their title track, ‘Nanana’ also entered the iTunes Top Song chart in many countries proving to be an instant global hit. With members Mark and Bambam in Thailand now, fans can only stream the album as they anticipate more OT7 content from the boy group. Over the last week, fans of GOT7 have been fed well with a lot of original content as the members gathered first for their offline fancon ‘Homecoming’ in Seoul two days ahead of their comeback. The chaotic boy group also appeared on member Youngjae’s radio show as well as a comeback live stream.

Will Ahgases be allowed to leave the GOT7 fandom?
All these events saw a lot of emotional revelations from the boy group but their fancon left Ahgases (IGOT7’s) questioning what they have gotten themselves into. During their fan meeting, leader Jay B stated that since there are many other K-pop groups that are younger and more active than GOT7, he would understand if fans wanted to move away from the boy group and the fandom and start following other groups. Unlike Jay B, the maknae line of GOT7 is not as generous.
Members Youngjae, Bambam, and Yugyeom decided to give their two cents on the situation while other members opposed Jay B. The rest of GOT7 did not agree to the fact that Ahgases could cheer on other K-pop groups and reprimanded Jay B for making a suggestion like that as Youngjae said, “Why would you tell Ahgases to cheer on other idol groups here, at our fan meeting?” The members were of the opinion that fans should only love the boys of GOT7.
Bambam is not letting the fan contracts go
The Thai prince and leader of chaos, Bambam had a unique idea as he suggested that just like K-pop idols are bound to their groups and labels, Ahgases should be bound to the group in some way as a joke. Bambam suggested that fans could sign an exclusive contract so that they could never leave the GOT7 fandom. The discussion continued on to the next day when Yugyeom added new terms to Bambam’s original plan where the maknae suggested a copout for fans.
Yugyeom stated that Ahgases could listen to songs by other artists but will not be allowed to purchase albums or merch from other artists. It was all fun and games for Ahgases until Bambam brought up the contract violation charges. The member joked that if Ahgases ever violated the contract, they would have to pay 700 million won ($554k) because the boy group is called GOT7 with seven members.
Bambam immediately pointed out that, for obvious reasons, the boys will not be able to make contract payments to fans for staying in the fandom as Bambam said, “If we give Ahgases contract payments, I would have no living expenses.”
‘In this GOT7 sh*t for life’
However, the idea of signing an exclusive fan contract with the boy group does not shock fans as much as it should because the fans are already dedicated to the group. One fan joked, “We are in this GOT7 sh*t for life,” joking about how they would stay in the fandom as long as they would live. Another fan said, “GOT7 will be the first K-pop group to sign a contract to ban fans from leaving.”
One more fan said, “If one day GOT7 x IGOT7 sign a 'what to do & not to do' contract, in our contract yugyeom want us to only buy got7's album and dont buy other groups album. look at my boy is so possesive.” One more fan joked, “Woww! Next album they will have a contract inside it for fans to not leave the fandom and what to do and to not do.”
GOT7 are the first ever K-pop group to transfer all trademark rights to the members themselves.👏
