The formerly JYP Entertainment boy group, GOT7 is making a comeback to the music industry after a hiatus of one year and three months since the release of their self-composed song, ‘Encore’. The boy group just hosted a concert in Seoul, South Korea for fans of the group which was their first in-person concert in many years. Not only did the boys have an in-person event but they also streamed the two-day tour titled, ‘Homecoming’ online for international fans.

The upcoming mini-album ‘GOT7’ will be their first official release as a self-composed and self-managed boy group. Over the last few weeks, all members of the boy group have been promoting their comeback by posting photos and teasers on their social media accounts. Among other members, GOT7’s spoiler king Bambam has been joking around with fans about spoiling the upcoming comeback some more after Youngjae teased the Thai-born member for saying a lot about the album ahead of its release.

4. ‘Two’
5. ‘Don’t Care About Me’

The new album from GOT7 will be as personal as it can get as all the songs on the album are composed and produced by the members themselves making it a very special comeback for the boys who have finally tasted the freedom to reveal their work, years after being controlled in terms of the songs they released. With leader Jay B (with his pseudonym Def.) taking charge of writing and composing the title track, ‘Nanana’ as well as the first track, ‘Truth’ and the final track, ‘Don’t Leave Me Alone’, members Youngjae (with his pseudonym Ars) is credited to the second song on the album titled, ‘Drive Me To The Moon’. The track has an interesting name as compared to one of their older releases, ‘Not By The Moon’ leading fans to wonder if the two tracks had any connection. The fourth track titled, ‘Two’ on GOT7’s upcoming mini-album is written and composed by maknae Yugyeom while Jinyoung has written and composed the fifth track, ‘Don’t Care About Me’ making the entire album as self-produced as it can get. It will be exciting to see how members of the AmericThaiKong unit - Mark, Jackson, and Bambam have contributed to the choreography of the title track once it drops.

Concept

For the upcoming mini-album, GOT7 released a total of four concept photos, two of which showed the members dressed in casual wear. The other two concepts saw members in contrasting outfits from dressing up as construction workers to formal office wear radiating their chic boyish charms. The fourth concept photo saw all seven GOT7 boys beaming with laughter when a close-up shot of their faces against one another was released. The first concept photo titled, ‘Under Construction’ that dropped on May 14 showed the boys looking unkempt but still perfect in every way or form. With grease and dust on their faces, GOT7 members appeared as construction workers ready to unleash their self-produced album for the first time outside of their former label. The next set of photos showed members wearing black and green outfits, resembling their group color while the third set of photos with the concept, ‘Finishing Touches’ saw the boys dressed in office formal fits that radiated each member’s unique charm. All these concept photos are making fans curious as they anticipate the big release of the mini-album heralding a new beginning for the seven-member boy group.

Teasers

The members released a highlight medley for the upcoming eponymous album, ‘GOT7’ that has raised a lot more anticipation for the comeback. The video featured snippets of each of the tracks on the upcoming album including the songs ‘Nanana’ and ‘Truth’ written by Jay B that wittily describes the early stages of a romantic relationship where people are getting to know each other. The song ‘Drive Me To The Moon’ written by Youngjae seems like a fan song dedicated to Ahgases who have been supporting the boy group over the last eight years without backing down. The track, ‘Two’ written by Yugyeom gives a deep-pitched sorrowful vibe that resembles the tone of many of his solo songs. On the other hand, the track ‘Don't Care About Me’ written by Jinyoung will also share a special message with the fans saying that the members can walk any path as long as they have one another as well as fans. While the song, ‘Don’t Leave Me Alone’ asks fans to stick around completing a full storyline with fans at the center of this comeback.
