For those who eagerly tune in every Monday night to watch 'NCIS: Hawai'i' on CBS, there's bad news. The crime procedural will not be airing on October 25, 2021. Instead, there will be a rerun of the second episode, titled 'Boom'. So far, the season has aired five episodes — most of which has seen mixed ratings with critics pointing out the clunky writing, but also highlighting that the show has still enough to hook the audience.

'NCIS: Hawai'i' currently averages 60% on Rotten Tomatoes with Variety saying, "The show still feels of a piece with "NCIS" proper, military jargon, efficient dialogue, flashy mysteries and all. If you're already a fan, it's worth giving a shot. If not, there are plenty of other shows in the sea."

'Boom's official synopsis reads: "Tennant and NCIS must take down a notorious team of international thieves before they complete their final big job and disappear; Kai searches for a new place to live; Lucy and Whistler have a standoff about their previous encounter."

Why is episode 6 not airing this week?

Carter Matt reckons that there is no new episode of 'NCIS' before the date and that both the shows will be airing together for the remainder of the season. The major reason is that the break helps with the ratings considering the November sweeps rating periods that further determine the success of the shows.

This means we're in for a bit of a wait as Episode 6 will return on November 1, 2021. CBS has released the official synopsis that reads: “The Tourist” – When Tennant and NCIS are tasked with finding a kidnapped globe-trotting social media star, they find that she is not who her husband, or her followers, think she is. Also, the team is at odds with Whistler, who has an agenda of her own, on the CBS original series NCIS: HAWAI`I, Monday, Nov. 1 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+."

'NCIS: Hawai'i' airs Mondays at 10 pm ET on CBS.
